  1. I really do think that it will be good for Holliday (not just the ML club’s win%) to send him back down now. He needs to work on some things, it’s completely clear. You don’t learn a whole lot by being dominated in the MLB. He will at least gain confidence by getting better results in the minors, and the coaches can work on his weaknesses at the plate.
  2. Ump inserts himself in the game in a crucial spot in favor of KC. Lame. Can Holliday get an approved medical exemption to take Adderall like Davis did? I'm not a hitting expert by any means, but how in the world would someone get a hit by turning their head and watching the baseball sail into the zone like this, while leaning or crouching down like he does? To me it seems like you need to look at the ball as it comes out of the hand, and decide if you're going to swing at that point. He saw "ball" (or "I don't know") coming out of the hand, decided not to swing, and is guiltily watching the baseball come into the zone - a completely useless action that will not help him in any way. He needs to break the habit of turning the head to look at the baseball. You either swing at it or you let it go by. His stance also looks extremely unfit for being able to get the bat out into the zone with any kind of bat speed. Looks like a stance that a little league hitting coach would notice and tell him to adjust.
  3. Pen imploding in April... uh oh. It's gonna be a long season if we can't call up or buy some relievers. The pen is in October form in April.
  4. The best thing Ramirez can do here is tell the coach he's injured, and limp back to the dugout. He has nothing. No-thing.
  5. Yeah I'm with everyone else who really doesn't like the Royals. I'm not letting 2014 go. Yankees, Royals and Rangers are at the top of my list of teams I'm glad to beat or watch them lose.
  6. Oh man, nevermind. I look away and it's 9-4. Akin and Tate complete implosion. Those who were thinking about doing other things are now encouraged to resume said other things.
  7. I feel like our odds are around 50/50 now. Akin tried to bury us but Adley brought this back to being a ballgame.
  8. All I can figure is, if Jackson Holliday is healthy and not having a stagefright issue, then the League must have an incredible scouting report on him, having found a perfect "Kryptonite" pitch sequence to get rid of him. If that's the case, he needs to figure out what's on that scouting report and figure out how to beat it.
  9. Tether your iPad to your phone. The park has very good 5G for recent smartphones, especially on AT&T, T-Mobile. Not as sure about Verizon coverage. I think they put up microcells or femtocells, which are basically short range cellular hotspots in the ceiling that cover only a few hundred feet. When you have that many people in a small area, you need a lot of small cells instead of relying on the big towers with miles of range.
  10. The broadcast didn't indicate one way or the other, but you have to think if Coulombe was emergency removed due to an issue, Hyde would say he's injured, and Webb would get as much time as needed to warm up on the mound.
  11. Terrible throw by Gunnar. Tied. The plot thickens...
  12. We could score off of their bullpen. Nobody has the endurance to pitch a complete game these days. They'll let a pitcher go for a complete game if they have a no-hitter or a perfect game going, maybe even a shutout, but we've already scored on Lopez.
  13. Even if the doctors came to Hyde with the incredible news that every pitcher in the organization is miraculously healed and ready and available to pitch in the MLB immediately, I would still give Suarez at least another start or two. Let him pitch his way in - or out - of the bigs. But give him the chances after that performance. Oh yeah, and in reality, there's no way everyone's going to be healed right away. Given how many we have on the IL, I think we'll see Suarez for a good while even if he falters.
  14. I think some days both teams seem to implicitly decide to take it easy. Get-away day, overcast, rainy... OK, let's hurry through a 1-0 game in a little over 2 hours. I might be wrong about that, but it certainly seems that way. They're swinging away for outs on both teams.
  15. Let us know if it shows Brandon Hyde charging the mound for a brawl when he makes a pitching change.
  16. He might have misread it. Saw him jogging for several seconds before it dropped in.
  17. O'Hearn puts in max effort on the catch, unlike Cowser.
  18. Cowser gave up on that, but it was close, I wonder if he could have caught it?
  19. Holliday squared up that ball and got it into the outfield. Heck, that would have been a clean sac fly in the right situation. I'll take any incremental improvement over the "Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Goodnight" strikeouts he's been normalizing...
  20. Good game, but I'm glad I'm not at the stadium tonight: I have an allergy to many pets' fur or dander. I wouldn't be happy with all those long haired dogs around, even though I like all pets (but cats are my favorite).
  21. I agree. He isn't dominating, not since the third inning or so, but he doesn't look injured. This is the type of game where he is going to have a lot of chances. He doesn't have to be perfect to win, and only a few of the Twins lineup can really hurt him (like Buxton).
  22. My first game was at Memorial Stadium. I was young enough for my dad to put me up on his shoulders. Wasn't long after that, they moved to OPACY.
  23. The owner David Rubenstein in the stands looks like anybody's grandpa, wearing an O's hat and actively watching the game.
