  1. Over the past 30 games, the Yankees are 11-19, and we are 16-14. Over the past 20 games, the Yankees are 5-15, and we are 9-11. We haven't been imploding quite as dramatically, but there are very real concerns of a team-wide slump for both teams. And this week has been bad for both teams, both going 1-3 so far. Unless a game is postponed til later in the season due to weather, either the Yankees or Orioles will collect more wins than the other in this head to head 3 game set. But how do you even know what to anticipate when two teams, with this much talent but this much simultaneous ineptitude, get together for a game?
  2. The ironic thing is, even if players like this had a chance to make an impact, they won't be brought up. If we can't bring up Mayo, how in the world are we going to bring up somebody like Colin Selby? Don't pay any attention to who we have the minors, because you won't see them play in the majors this year! Management has cement bricks on the cleats of our current ML staff.
  3. Heh, just had a thought. The AL is completely hosed in the All Star Game this year. 0% chance of a win. Not that it matters, it's just an exhibition, but with slumping Judge, failing Clay Holmes, slumping Juan Soto, slumping Gunnar, slumping Adley, slumping Santander, tired Burnes, and slumping Westburg on the team, it's the All-Losers Team for the AL. Anybody from the National League teams with one brain cell and a recent experience resembling any glimmer of success at doing their job is going to absolutely obliterate these guys on the field in the ASG.
  4. The Yankees are making their game with the Rays... interesting, at least. 5-3 Rays and the Yanks have had 6 ups. A nailbiter to see if we're going to end up 1 game back when we face them, or 2. Tomorrow will be a fascinating baseball game, O's vs Yanks. They may have to pull out a tee for the batters to hit off of in the 27th inning, score tied 0-0, because nobody on either team can string together a rally if their life depended on it.
  5. Don't anyone get your hopes up; he was optioned to Norfolk. The Tides are where decent players go to rot in Purgatory forever, while such luminaries as Cole Irvin and Colton Cowser stay permanently cemented in the bigs. Pay no attention to our minor league rosters; you won't see anyone from there playing for the Orioles this year until roster expansion in September, and even then, it'll be the bare minimum and we won't be sending down anyone who deserves sending down, or DFAing anyone who deserves to be DFAed.
  6. All of our players should recuse themselves from the All Star game. None of them are any good at all. The Cubs' worst man on their 30-man roster is better than the best player we have on ours. Boy am I glad I changed out my tickets for tomorrow for a game in August! We're playing like team 30 out of 30 in the league this week. Absolute pits. They have nothing on either side of the ball. Nothing. I have more entertaining things I can do with my evening than watch the inept Orioles get batted around by the lowly Cubs. Later all.
  7. Nope, not these O's. Not against a sub-.500 team.
  8. Our offense this series is best summarized by the weak pop-out or the middle outfield fly-out. I'd call it frustrating, but, well. I already bashed that word. It's ... infuriating. There we go.
  9. Bless you Mounty. 3 for 3. Can we clone him?
  10. Come on, BLUE! Quit calling balls as strikes for our guys! SOB ump!
  11. Ok, good defense. A minimum quality start for Burnes, 6 IP, 3 runs. Let's get the freaking sticks going!!!!!!!! Good Lord!
  12. Warning Track Power. And Gunnar has nothing after 3 ups against the SP. Maybe the Red Sox will take a turn in first place this season.
  13. Hitters got their heads screwed on backwards. Swinging at balls and watching strikes. Pitch recognition terrible tonight and yesterday.
  14. Welp, we live by the long ball, die by it ... a solo home run halves their lead.
  15. I'm so tired of the word "frustrating". Buck, the players, and the O's media used it for years and years when we sucked. It's all they could say, night in and night out as we got beaten by both good and bad teams. We need a different, fresh word that opens eyes and stirs emotions. "Frustrating" is like saying "Hi, how ya doin'?" "Good." -- it has no effect. It's numb.
  16. Why is it super, extra, irrationally more frustrating when this team gets beaten by sucky sub-.500 teams? We take care of teams like the Yanks and the Phillies but get hammered by the uninspiring Cubs.
  17. Good fact check. So 50% of the time he has no clue whether the baseball is going into the stands or into a competitive part of the strike zone. The other 50% of the time, he’s a pitcher.
  18. Every team is allowed to have a bad day, but by God this had better not become a trend. Snap the hell out of “whatever nonsense this is” tomorrow and play like a contending team.
  19. Hope we don't see any more Akin after today.
  20. Yankees lose! Thaaaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees! LOSE!
  21. Take the new pill "Sotyktu" if you're allergic to 9th inning drama. Side effects include the Loss Column, impaired TV function, insomnia, and MLB App Addiction.
  22. I'm not complaining. Love to see some Orioles fan babes in a far away place like Seattle.
