  1. I think I figured it out. MLB.tv delays the radio feed so they can play more ads. My radio feed always ends up behind and sometimes they cut into the start of innings with more ads. Please pardon my aside and go O’s.
  2. I can think of several others for GOTY, O’s have a tremendous penchant for dramatic and gripping wins. This was another.
  3. I don’t know about you guys but there was a time I was excited about the passing of the torch. Shame on me I guess.
  4. Love seeing megalomaniacs get embarrassed, really feeds me on a deep level.
  5. Quite believable actually haha. Can’t believe how stupid this entire fiasco is.
  6. They are muting the stadium noise on the radio feed whenever the Free Kevin Brown chants kick up.
  7. Just guys being dudes, I am sure it’s smoothed out. Adley or Hyde probably told him to simmer down lol. Gunnar’s probably feeling himself right now with how well his season has gone.
  8. I think he could still be some kind of major league contributor but maybe the organization is just too deep. He's probably still a starter somewhere, if DFA'd I would expect him to land somewhere in a trade for a marginal prospect at least.
  9. He seems to overmatch more batters than anyone else I watch. Not a lot of good ABs against him, lots of guessing and flailing.
  10. For me the most important aspect of Hicks doing well is that it is very, very funny.
  11. 6 RBIs yesterday, 5 RBIs today. He's regressing.
  12. I feel like they have sufficient talent to trade that the starter they would look to pick up would not be a fall rental, maybe someone with a few years to free agency, appropriate for the apparent "window" of the team. The window could be pretty wide given how young the organization is. I feel like the chance they make a splash is actually pretty high.
  13. Ben would make a good MLB video game commentator guy.
  14. Good memory. Uehara is the lifetime major league leader in K/BB among qualifying relievers at 7.33, by the way.
  15. Swing lower than you think you should? I have no idea lol. Though to be fair apparently nobody else does either. His first-strike % is 65.6% against the major league average of I think like 58%. He's challenging guys that aren't up to it.
  16. It's hard to remember the last time I was this excited about the organization as a whole.
  17. Who leads the majors in WHIP (qualified pitchers) if anyone didn't know that. Yeah well that's a serious need isn't it. I think that'd be a really ambitious transition. Like if his success continues and he's "just" a great high-leverage reliever, I'm content to settle for that. I would hate to overextend him and potentially ruin what could be an incredible pickup for the O's. I mean it's mid-May long season yada yada. Let's just be really excited.
  18. Now we're doing Civil Engineering Hangout. Stay tuned for my I-95 Toll Booth Power Rankings.
  19. His zero walks allowed in 21.2 IP is for me the single most impressive individual stat in the sport right now. He leads the majors in pitching Win Probability Added. As of yesterday (I don't think this is up to date for today) he is 8th in major league pitching WAR at 1.9 (Alex Cobb and Eduardo Rodriguez co-leading at 2.4 for context).
