  1. Not just no, but hell no!! Also, what's all this talk about Kjerstad being a defensive liability? Dude is at worst a serviceable corner outfielder. At best an averagish corner outfielder.
  2. It's just a swap. Wells or Irvin to the pen.
  3. Let me throw this out there for consideration. Keegan Akin has been "lights out" from spring training thru this first couple weeks of the season. Dude came up thru the minors as a starter. Is it so farfetched that he can't return to being a starter? Or should we leave well enough alone? Just a thought...
  4. Thanks Roy. Not only do you speak from your heart, but you've spoken what's in my heart. Some of us "get it".
  5. Teheran will be a good pickup for some 100+ loss team.
  6. Didn't Elias proclaim this off-season that Holliday would be given an opportunity to prove he belongs on the Opening Day roster? Looks to me like he's meeting and possibly exceeding his burden of proof so far this spring. I'm hoping Elias is true to his word. I'd like to see our best players on the field from game one.
  7. Don't forget the always thrilling Leftovers for Breakfast.
  8. Yes, I'm celebrating tonight! A good cigar and a pint of old man Kesslers! A word of caution though, don't expect the new owners to immediately start throwing money around like a drunken sailor at a strip club. I feel encouraged that they may well bring the O's payroll up to a respectable level. But I hope and expect they will be cautious with their investments. Just my opinion...
  9. I like both players. I just can't see trading a #2 overall pick (Kjerstad) when he's just breaking into the majors. His bat seems "tailor made" for that short right porch at Camden Yards. I also think he could play a serviceable defense in right field. Just my opinion.
  10. I don't need to read 20 pages of comments to express my opinion on this matter. FOR GODSAKE PLEASE LET THIS TEAM BE SOLD TO SOME ENTITY THAT'S COMMITTED TO BALTIMORE!!!
  11. I'm just thankful we didn't give up any of our top prospects for Flaherty. Perhaps Elias was/is looking to catch some "lightning in a bottle" from a guy pitching for his next contract.
  12. Sorry, I don't have time to peruse thru 40 pages of comments. I'm just gonna say bring back drunk Gary Thorne.
  13. Wait? What? Let's not get the cart ahead of the horse. Enjoy the moment!
  14. Heck, I'm 61 years young and I recognize Cheetah Girls. Our boys are definitely having some fun! Me too!
  15. At the end of the day we're undisputed first-place in the AL-EAST. Take a minute and enjoy.
  16. Dude can really throw the ball hard, but he's gotta find the strike zone. Also, not seeing much movement on his pitches. Batters at this level can hit 100mph center-cut fastballs all day long. With that being said, there's a lot there to work with. I guess we'll find out pretty soon if Elias and Sig really do have a "secret sauce" for pitchers.
  17. Dodgers bats just got "manhandled" by Max Scherzer yesterday. Not that it means anything.
  18. I'm concerned about the possibility of regression this season. The starting pitching does not impress me (though it didn't impress me last season). I hope I'm wrong, but I predict 76 wins.
  19. Man, this dude can flat-out hit the baseball! Before everyone starts "piling on" to call me crazy, may I refresh your memories that Felix Bautista made the jump from A+ ball to Opening Day roster in 2022. Taken together, his MVP from the Arizona Fall League and his electric Spring Training says to me this dude is ready for "the show". Triple slash of 400/429/850. I realize it's not gonna happen, but after what he's been through wouldn't it be great?
  20. Orioles just announced they have successfully resurrected Edgar Allen Poe. He'll be reciting "The Raven" at Camden Yards prior to the 2023 home opener. Orioles Hangouters be like "meh".
  21. Here's hoping Elias/Sig have some of that "special sauce" ready for Irvin.
