  1. Good point. I'll counter with the fact that Hays' mustache is in direct competition with Cowser's beard. We haven't seen a beard this burly around these parts in quite some time. And while it's not Brian Wilson or James Harden magnitude (thank heavens) Cowser's is nothing to sneeze at. And as a bearded wierdo myself, I don't recommend sneezing any more than necessary.
  2. His inability to grow a mustache is killing him right now. Growing one or shaving one off is what he needs to get things going. Maybe he can shave Gunnar's.

  4. Good ideas all around. If they keep it where it is, I hope they go with what CO did and make the entire area the scoreboard... What they had is essentially what we have now: But what they replaced it with is so cool and what we need too. Keep the clock at the top, but make the silhouette underneath to fill the existing space and incorporate something Baltimore-centric (or not). I think the proportions of Camden Yards are so pleasing, I wouldn't wall a massive wall to suddenly throw everything off, so updating the existing one to now use every inch of existing real estate with a screen seems like the best modernization that balances aesthetic with function.

Whatever they do I'll like in the end since it is tied to something good happening, but I do feel like we've seen the handlebars by other teams. This is also fine, but the spigot/sprinklers/hose AND Mr. Splash tie in was innovative and fun.

Not sure about that, but going to Sunday's game where we got shut down there was a moment with the bases loaded for Adley and between pitches you could hear very loud notes coming off of some kind of speeding vehicles from outside the stadium. This was a pure coincidence (and obviously didn't result in anything happening on the fields -- Adley dribbled to the left of the infield) but I have to admit it was almost a perfect moment.

In game 1 it looked as if the team was trying out what felt right. From camera shots to the dugout after a hit, you could see that the players were lobbying for at least two options (revving or spigot) to the player on base. In game 2 I only noticed the motorcycle sign. Going today and will have a clear view of our dugout. I'll report back what I spy.
  9. At this point it feels like: if not us then why hasn't it happened already?
  10. That's what did it for me. Knowing now what games I have on the family calendar (that I can defend against other obligations) is a nice feeling this summer too. Easter, May 19th run the bases, Father's Day, August Astros, September Rays. Let's goo.
  11. Or maybe the db that threw one at McClouth? Hard to keep track.
  12. For what it is worth, Ryan Ripken believes it's coming: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ryan+ripken+jordan+westberg Is it possible he is the "worst" bat in our everyday lineup at some point this year?
  13. Probably trying something from Irvin's mix, just be polite.
  14. Duquette looks good. Glad to see him. Seemed like a good guy.
  15. Darren O'Day was in the booth doing the broadcast for ATL. He struck me as being kinda coarse about his time with Baltimore. Said he was excited to be traded. Said Baltimore will boo you if you're not doing well. I didn't know much about his humor when he was here and it's not like he was technically negative about Baltimore during the broadcast... just wasn't all that sweet either about his time. His comments struck me as the type of stuff you'd save for off the mic. Anyone notice that?
  16. Hope everyone else in the Mojo Doho Casa House stays healthy.
  17. Depending on which direction you are traveling from, one doesn't have to go too far to suddenly be outside of the MASN market -- meaning a flex plan to get to even just a few games (knowing you'd spend that money anyway on ad-hoc trips), playoff ticket opportunities, and "free" access to the rest of the games thru MLB.tv provide a very sweet deal indeed. I wasn't expecting this when I signed up for flex last September, but it feels directly targeted at me (or Os fans in southeastern PA and DE - <2hours from OPACY).
  18. Pleasantly surprised to find that season ticket package owners (even flex levels, like me) get MLB.tv subscription for 2024. I live just out of market and have been a subscriber for years but this is the first year I've been a flex member.
  19. For those who can never have enough hat options, here's another one for your collection. Official League This looks like it would only be available in toddler sizing, but the company specializes in whimsical options for adults.
  20. Gonna go ahead and restart my computer, reload this page, pretend I haven't read any of this.
  21. And sometimes it feel like you have to give up a lot to get something. In this case, what we gave up didn't feel like too much when considering we are, in fact, getting a lot IMO. Sure, one year deal and all, but if CB had more years left the package required would have cut a lot more deeply. We don't know what the future holds, but this isn't rolling the dice on someone you have to squint at to see a breakout coming. CB's track record more than makes up for the loss of Ortiz, Hall and 34. And to make myself feel even better, I'll throw in the old "value-add of having our kids learning from CB while he's here" thing. It's not nothing!
  22. No part of me expects CB to be an Oriole after this season. Some parts of me are still hopeful that we can keep Adley and Gunnar, but this is essentially delusion because I don't want to think about the alternative right now. Delusion or not, I still expect the team to try their damnedest to keep a team together where cost, value and flexibility overlap.
  23. Jackson Holliday Jr has already been signed by Boras.
