  1. Someone should have called him off, it was never 2b's ball. But, rookie superstar debut....new player to get familiar with....and no matter the level, sometimes the ball is just hit in an absolute horrible spot equidistant from 3 defenders. A couple of feet in any different direction and it plays out differently.
  2. From the video, it looked like Holliday was shaded up the middle on the edge of the grass...which gave him a better angle than he would've had if he was playing straight up. So I think he saw it go glove side and thought "I can get that" but then it ended up being too deep. That's Cedric's ball 100/100 and if Holliday didn't chase after it I think Mullins gets there, but they've probably barely been on the field together. That kind of stuff will work itself out with time.
  3. Wait, it's not on MLB.TV? I can't remember what plays what anymore! My brain is scrambled from all the subscription hopping and having to remember to cancel free trials!!
  4. He's literally having a field constructed in his yard in AZ. Neighbors are pissed! https://nypost.com/2024/04/05/sports/former-mlb-all-star-j-j-hardy-angers-neighbors-with-mini-baseball-field-project-for-his-backyard/
  5. Are you sure? The website doesn't mention that. I just added a rookie plan into my cart - I already have a pro, so I can't actually try and check out with it.
  6. Get the flex plan! Go to whatever games you want and get 15% off face value. Plus you'll get dibs to OD and playoff games (which you can flip for profit!!! )
  7. Urias is a respectable 3-7 (.429) vs. Sandoval. Mateo is 0-2. Pretty sure Urias will be on 3rd. Hays and Santander also have nice #'s vs Sandoval (albeit limited at bats).
  8. It's basically been a given that Henderson was going to get most of the time at SS this year. Hyde said he'd "primarily" play SS. He'll still play 3b at times...but obviously way less and probably not starts.
  9. I mentioned this after the 1st ST game and I've watched several ST games since, and I've felt the same about each of his at bats - to me, he looks like he's pressing to impress a bit this year. He's taking big cuts. Last year, he was probably just happy to be up, and he looked good. He wasn't in over his head. Not a huge sample, but he drew 4 walks to 4 ks in 2023 ST. He was also basically 1/1 in AAA and basically every stop. I've been hoping all along that he makes OD....I think his eye is good enough (and learning curve short enough) right now that he should be in the OD starting lineup. I'm hoping he makes it and that settles him some. I'd hate to see him get sent down for service time only to press to get sent back up and start out in a funk. Sportsfan mentioned it a page or two back also, but to me, Urias has to be odd man out. I don't dislike him and know he has value, but.......somebody's gotta go.
  10. I originally misinterpreted the 50%....I was thinking exchange=forward. You can exchange 50% of the tickets for the Reserved Membership (actual game plans) on a dollar for dollar swap. You can do whatever you want (within the limitations of the specific level) with tickets purchased through the Flex Membership.
  11. Interesting. I'll use 50%+, but that's definitely good to know. What about sales? Do they count as exchanges? Actually, can you post a link? I've been looking for a while now...can't find the fine print on the plans. FOUND IT: https://www.mlb.com/orioles/tickets/season-tickets/guide
  12. Same here. I had a 13 game Sunday plan for years that I gave up in 2018, but I looove playoff and OD games. I jumped back in to buy a 2024 plan simply to have access to 2023 playoffs, and then being able to get OD and 2024 playoffs would just be a bonus. When you commit the money and can then spend it however you want, the plans are pretty hard to beat (as long as you go to at least a small handful of games per year). We got tickets to a few promo giveaway games and will probably spend the remainder on random weeknight games for slightly better $eats.
  13. This is literally a thread about high OD prices. I'm so sorry you don't approve, but I promise you I'm not worried about what anyone here thinks of how I spend my money. Not bragging. Sorry you seem offended. I've paid secondary market prices myself for certain games - I'm a fan of capitalism so it is what it is, there are pros and cons. I've also offered PLAYOFF tickets on this site at face value (exchange). Was simply making the point that they're selling for 3.5x face....in a thread about high OD prices.
  14. Just sold them! Section 208. 3 tickets. Bought them for $294 total ($90 each plus $24 in fees) and just sold them for $349 each, or $1,047. My cut will be $942 after fees. That pays for buying the 3 OD tickets plus more than half of the $1200 for my plan.
  15. I pulled the trigger on a $1200 flex last fall to get playoff tickets. Glad I did!! I won't use all $1200 personally, but I've spread the word to friends who might want tickets to a game or two. They benefit from my 15% discount while helping me deplete the $1200. It really is a no brainer if you go to even a few games. I just went and checked SeatGeek....my seats are estimated to sell for $308-$328 each plus I've had a schedule conflict pop up on 3/28 since I bought them. Hate to say it, but I'm probably pulling the trigger on selling them via SeatGeek. I could pay for nearly half of my plan with the profit. Prices are craaaaazy. I just texted my kids to get their thoughts.
  16. To me, he looked like he was trying to kill it a bit too much in both at bats. He pulled out a bit on the K swing and took a big final cut on the 2nd AB also. Eager young buck swings. And yes, the biceps looked legit. He wasn't small last year - I think his 14 year old babyface throws people off, but he's definitely noticeably bigger.
  17. Torn/pulled obliques SUUUUUCK. Feels like a sharp knife slicing your ribs. I went through it once or twice back in the day from swinging too hard trying to hit bp bombs during early cold practices (of course without stretching). And there's nothing you can do but wait or it will linger. Took me a solid 4 weeks the last time - but obviously I didn't have a pro medical staff.
  18. What about Hunter Harvey? He's settled in pretty nicely with the Nats. Recorded 10 saves last year. 2 years of control in which the Nats will be going nowhere.
  19. I'm not saying spilling alone is reason enough to ban it, it's one of multiple.
  20. I guess I'm getting old. I've come full circle on stuff like this. I started dipping at 16 and after going back and forth with it for 25+ years, I finally quit for good about a year and a half ago. I absolutely, positively started dipping because of baseball. Long story short, it's just not necessary. It's just not. People that chew and dip need to spit and there's no good place to spit at a ballpark. And yes, as someone who spit in a plastic bottle for the entire time I dipped, I realize it's possible but then you have bottles of spit that often get spilled (I spilled countless myself). If I take my kids to a game and someone spills their spit bottle on/near them, there's going to be a problem. I've seen that happen. As a lifelong dipper and season ticket holder, I don't want to hear or see someone obnoxiously spitting next to me for 3 hours. I see that ALL the time too. As far as legal weed and beer, I don't have the perfect answer for that (except gimme some) and I don't necessarily disagree. But two (or more) wrongs don't make it right either. Pointing at something else that's bad as justification doesn't lead to getting anywhere. I love having a couple of Stella's at the game, but at the same time, I'd be okay with no beer at a stadium. But do I want to pay more for my tickets for that? No, not really.
  21. I get the nitpicking. I was asking for the aforementioned "plenty of reason" not nitpicking. We haven't seen him adjust to a whole lot? Didn't he just play in all 3 milb levels last year and look fantastic while doing it? That's not MLB pitching, I get it, but you don't rip comfortably through 3 levels like that if you aren't able to make adjustments. He succeeded at 4 levels within about 7 months last year, including MLB ST (yes, sss along with AAA). I don't think his ability to make adjustments is of any concern. And yes, of course he could struggle at MLB, but then again (and as we've seen) so can guys who've spent a year or two at AAA. May or may not be OD, but we'll see soon enough.
  22. I never said anything about him being "ready to be a dominant" player, nor did I imply he'll be better than Adley or Gunnar "soon" (although I don't think it's out of the question in the not too distant future)....not sure why you're adding words and taking that angle in your response. I simply stated an opinion that some fans may be so mesmerized with Gunnar that they can't imagine anyone else. It's a good problem to have. In my opinion, Holliday is ready and I want the best roster from day 1. And please tell me what is the "plenty of reason" to tap the brakes on Holliday.
  23. I think people have been so enamored with Adley and Gunnar and they're on such a high from those two (and rightfully so, not knocking it)....that they can't wrap their head around the fact that Jackson is almost certainly the best of the 3. I think Holliday should be on the OD roster, but I won't be surprised if he's not.
  24. He wasn't here long, but Gerardo Parra had an excellent arm. He won a couple of gold gloves. Jesse Barfield had a cannon. Raul Mondesi. Dave Parker. Ichiro. Ankiel. Griffey. Winfield.
  25. If you say so! I'm not feeling it. I don't hate the floppy hat, but those Hawaiian shirts would be headed straight to ebay. I'm happy with some bobbleheads.....Hyde, Santander, Rutschman, Gunnar. I wish they mixed in at least one older player each year, but I can't complain with this years lineup. My girls will want the wristlets. I'm just over an hour away, so the promotions have always been fun for my daughters and I. Makes it easier to pick games. My favorite is probably a Jim Palmer jersey (was given out I believe in July, several years ago) that I was able to get him to autograph at Fanfest. I have dozens (and dozens) of bobbleheads.
