Surprised the ump called that curve a ball and wasn't fooled.

That is the risk with saving guys for high leverage situations. At some point they just flat out need work and that can lead to these situations.
True, he needed game work.

That's cool! Love mid century Modern. Rob and Laura Petrie.
I used to host what I called, "Cocoa Beach Cocktail Parties," replete with all the kitsch, right down to the Blue Curacao.

Just thinking of Hyde’s comments of pressing
I guess you could send down 10 batters who are pressing. Or you can let them work through it. Mountcastle is a pure hitter, not somebody who needs minor league tweaking,

You watch Goonzquad?
When I bought my house, I incorporated a lot of Mid-Century Modern style, including the installation of a Sputnik chandelier. But mine has spun glass bulbs.

Might help get confidence back then come back.
A couple hits here would "help get confidence back." That is, if he has lost any confidence., which i am not sure he has,

The way she tries to draw out their first names is like nails on a chalkboard. She seems like she is trying too hard to me.

That’s what I think. You don’t fire a guy an hour or two before the home opener based on tweets that are months/weeks/days old.
How about hours old?

Means can really pitch. I wonder what team he'll be winning games for in a couple of years.
A team whose analytics department values inducing soft contact.

During an interview, another player, maybe DL Hall, said that Ortiz really shined in Instructs. He asked Ortiz what he did to up his power and Ortiz replied that he just hit off a tee all Summer, lol. And then Matt Blood mentioned him a short time later. I agree, we don't know if we can trust what Blood says, not yet. It sure would be nice if Blood was accurate in his comments, but Ortiz and Bradish certainly have a lot to prove.
Someone we never seem to hear anything about is Kyle Stowers, Comp B pick in 2019. That was a pick that I questioned at the time, and I wonder if he is one player that the layoff may have really hurt in his development. Seems to have a long way to go and really needs at bats.
I remember watching video of Stowers after the draft and thinking he looked like he had less power than Gunnar, despite being 3 1/2 years older. However, I read some reviews about Stowers this past Spring that said his power was legit. He seems like the biggest "unknown quantity" of the high picks from the past few years. (Though I am sure one could add Kjerstad to the top of that list.)

Even the routine popups are an adventure when DJ is trying to catch them. He looks like a contortionist.
