  1. Been saying that for a long time. He's a slightly above average hitter, which is a massive disappointment for a number 1 overall pick.
  2. Why not? Innate talent is necessary and the Rangers have much better hitters, no matter how hard Hays tries he will never be hitting for a .900 OPS
  3. Just a brutal series, Mateo was the only highlight
  4. On the bright side for Kremer, I don't think it would have mattered too much even if he pitched well and gave up only 1,2 or 3 runs in 6 innings
  5. Eovaldi 19 pitches through 2 innings, Kremer 34 through 1
  6. I never understood how Hyde would always brag about how every game was close, but they would win those games at a well above 50/50 clip. It's not a good thing, it's a sign of mediocrity and thus luck due to small sample size... Orioles do not have a single very good hitter, the Rangers' 1-5 hitters all had regular season OPS's well above the highest on the Orioles
  7. Results look really good, I'm guessing this is his last start in the minors and he will be up shortly.
  8. Gibson has been a disappointment, but at the same time many of the other available starters have been even worse, like Syndergaard and Rodon
  9. He's thrown a ton of innings this year, IMO it's a result of fatigue. Long term and for the playoffs, I'm not worried.
  10. Kjerstad is currently batting .304 with a .979 OPS in 80 PA for Norfolk. He went off in the AFL and never looked back.
  11. Austin Hays is now leading the AL in batting average, at .320, putting him ahead of Bo Bichette who is batting .318.
  12. I have an Athletic sub and agree, I basically never read his articles, preferring masnsports for coverage. However, many of his human interest stories were excellent, such as his profile of John Means: https://theathletic.com/2488704/2021/04/01/orioles-john-means-losing-father-gaining-son/
  13. Near 0, his value is likely similar to that of Mancini when he was traded.
  14. terrible signing, terrible player, terrible OBP and takes a roster spot away from someone in AAA who would otherwise be up here
