It is for me. I would prefer to have my catcher and SS have plus defender skills and weak bat, then plus bat, and weak with the glove. Of course, Ideally having both is fab and hard to come by.

There is also a huge mental aspect here. If he can manage past that, maybe there is a small glimmer of hope. I am not in denial, I get there are some very long odds here, of anything of at least replacement level play.

Good choice, and as since he has started games in the OF, and can also play SS. He sounds like a pitcher that is also a utility bench player.
