  1. As many holes in this team, I would not image anybody is untouchable, if the right offer is made. Hopefully, we can get production out of some of these guys.
  2. https://www.masnsports.com/steve-melewski/2019/12/rebuilding-is-indeed-difficult-as-advertised.html Melewski makes some valid points about the fans and how their expectations are changing.
  3. Personally, I hate that he showed traces of dominance, but never came remotely close to the hype. I dont want to blame TJ, as his velocity mostly returned. Was the scout reviews incorrect, was our coaching in the minors/majors incorrect, or a combination of both?????? I think he is a likable guy, and was easy to root for.
  4. My son went from rural Alaska to rural OK and back, and if you have land and not in a sub-division, then your options are usually only DIRECTTV
  5. I was wrong about Jackson too, like i was wrong about RG3.. LOL Nothing wrong with discussions, and something when somebody put an intelligent thought out there, one can sit back and say, dang, that does make sense. But, the trolls dont like intelligent conversations, as they just stir the crap and incite the masses. Of which, will get me another red flag flame, but oh well. At my age, I speak my mind, and I dont care. But, Im also man enough to man up when needed to, others (Not you) cant do that. Its like Fonzi and unable to say the word, wrong. lol
  6. I like the ones that actually tell you opening day payroll, as you mentioned its a moving peg.
  7. You would think they would get the correct/same amount, but I guess the contracts get pretty complicated.
  8. Its been a tough off-season, here in OH, and typically of how social media is turning into one big cesspool of anger and hate.
  9. Kaepernick is a has been, he doesnt have the talent to continue to complete at the NFL level, so he taken other steps to keep his name on people's tongues and playing the blame game. My opinion has ZERO to do with his political views. Back to the thread topic. Villar was fun to watch and root for, while here. But, 1/2 a season, does justify 10 mil for an offensive only player. IMO
  10. At the end of the day, I suspect they are still making a pretty penny. I think I read a few weeks ago, that MASN had the 3rd or 4th best cable TV package for revenue.
  11. Word! Problem is, you used facts to support your argument. The negative ninnies wont like that. LOL
  12. The Yankee minor league team, the Marlins have traded for Villar, and soon will be reassigned to the parent Yankee ball club. That is all for now.
  13. If we had a winning team, then what would people in OH have to gripe and complain about?
  14. According to Sportrac: 2020 = 49M 2019 = 73M 2018 = 130M 2017 = 175M
  15. Just consider the source. It makes no sense, waiving Davis, will save the temp Zero dollars. But the Poster knows that, but he stirred the pot, and this will be another 100 page thread, rehashing things.
  16. Meaningful games in Sept and October is a pretty good place to aim, and if you can do that, you got a good shot and getting into the playoffs, and then anything can happen.
  17. It made sense to lock him up long before he was a pending free agent, they did not practice fiscal responsibility on their payroll. But I guess thats water under the bridge now.
  18. 10 per year for Villar, and no defense. I think Manny did want to stay here, it was pretty obvious that the Organization/Ownership wasnt interested. Manny is most likely a first round HOF. Villar will never be a HOF.
  19. I like Villar, dont get me wrong. But, it seams like more people are on the keep Villar wagon, than was on the keep Manny wagon.
  20. Not wanting to rerail this Bundy thread. But your point about the Redskins, needs to be into better context. Alex Smith and Trent Williams account for 34 million of that dead cap. Yes, you could argue given that money to Cousins and he would still be playing, but you really can not account for injuries, and in Trent's case, non football injury issues. Jordan and Davis are out because of concussions, again, injuries and that that 15 more million. That not extreme bad or stupid. IMO It is very unfortunate set of circumstances.
  21. I agree 2016 was sweet, but after 14 years of hell, 2012 felt good.
  22. I think picking up Verlander was good for them and the stretch run that one year, and was dominating in the playoffs, but I wouldnt call Verlander a fringe player either.
  23. If they were going after fringe veterans, then the dude would be complaining about that, and how we need the youth movement.
  24. I agree, this what if stuff is for the birds. I get some of it, is what Tony likes to call discussion points. But, some of it, is just so unrealistic, its silly Heck, the rapture could occur, tonight and solve this whole problem for us.
