  1. Well they must think something awful will happen since they're rather have the guy who's 2 for 40 this year hit.
  2. Considered, addressed, and rebutted numerous times already.
  3. Right and that's insane, considering Hays has been, by far, the worst qualified hitter in the league so far. No amount of "drop-off" that would come from O'Hearn facing a LHP (gasp!) would get near the likelihood of Hays making an out there. And I think you know that but would just rather argue instead of acknowledging the obvious.
  4. You'd have Mateo. I'd prefer to save him for pinch-running though. Of course, I'd have just let O'Hearn hit. My suggestion was just for those who think the world would end if O'Hearn batted against a LHP.
  5. What part of “I am not inherently against platooning” did you not understand? If you think O’Hearn batting against a lefty will cause the earth to collapse on itself, then use Urias as a PH. At least he has shown signs of life lately. Then sub Hays in for defense.
  6. I’m not inherently against platooning and matchups, but when you’re such a slave to it that you’re PHing for a red hot bat with an ice cold one, then I have a problem.
  7. Yes I'm sure you're a brand new poster.
  8. Well then he's lost the plot. My original argument was to stick with a hot bat over a matchup using a PH who is currently the worst qualified hitter in the league.
  9. How long until you're banned again? I give it another 20 or so posts.
  10. LMAO, what? Analytics didn't even exist back then. Stop with the bullcrap.
  11. Only intelligent thing you've said so far.
  12. Nice argument. Who's alt are you?
  13. To be clear, this line of reasoning only works if the players are robots and not human beings.
  14. Because managers are now slaves to platoons and shut their brains off. Seems many on this board have followed suit. Sad.
  15. This isn't how hitting works.
  16. Yeah because apparently posters here prioritize players' fee-fees over winning.
  17. Could have just put him in for defense.
  18. Did anyone seriously think Hays had a better chance of getting a hit than O'Hearn in that situation given how each one has been hitting? If you say yes you're lying.
  19. No it wasn't. My argument was to play the hot hand. Nobody has explained why I should care about O'Hearn's OPS against lefties 3 years ago in KC when he's knocking the cover off the ball right now. Hays is not currently hit anyone, leftie or rightie. Tony -- if you don't like something in my post why don't you just edit it out so I don't have to repost everything else?
  20. I'm close to thinking that he doesn't.
  21. And that would be the only issue here? Lol
  22. Because one hitter is red hot and the other is hitting like dog poop. Who cares about their career numbers? Let the hot hitter hit. Guarantee this board would have had a cow (no pun intended) if Hays PH for Cowser during that Boston series. Not much difference here.
  23. Strongly disagree. Hays' struggles date back to last year.
