Mayo just doesn't seem like a ML 3B. It would be very convenient for us if he was, but he just isn't. Maybe he can get there, but with his adjustments to ML pitching it's not like we get the benefit of his bat to offset it, at least yet. Unfortunately he has little experience at 1B, and either way you aren't taking out Mountcastle or Jimenez (DH) against LH. Unless he starts hitting I think he goes back down to the minors and we bring up JD Davis.

A hidden plus is that he has turned himself into a playable RF-er. The metrics still show him below average, but at Camden Yards I think he's certainly playable. Meanwhile Trumbo was one of the worst rated OFers in MLB when he played there for us.

It's one thing to constantly miss on a particular area. But it's literally been all four corners this ump has whiffed on.

A bit unlucky that Vlad was able to inside out that ball (really hard to do that) and miss both defenders, then also Mayo misses another DP ball. I don't fault Rogers really in that inning. It wasn't like they just pulverized the ball the whole inning.

I'm being optimistic that "I don't feel right" means a sickness, and that if it was an injury he would have referenced whatever was hurting.

How does it work with him being on IL, as far as being on roster before the Sept 01 cutoff? Like say they did think he could be back, is he safe on the IL until he is taken off even in September?

If he put's balls in play and can do the little things (the Roy Firestone stuff), that would at least be a change of pace from all our other RH bats.

There's also inherent motivation to convince the Orioles to pick up his 16 mil 2025 salary, or obviously if not give someone else a reason to pay him once he's cut.

Remember when JLC said he's trade Holliday for Luis Robert Jr? Would anyone be surprised if Jimenez outplayed (at least out hit) Robert the rest of the year?

Doesnt Ramirez hit better as a RH? Why bring in Perez to face him?

The main disappointment to me is we traded two good trade chips for a pitcher that seemingly would be unlikely to be a guy we'd want starting in a playoff game. That to me is always the first test for a starter. Would you want him starting a playoff game? Right now, I'd rather Dean Kremer as the #4 in a playoff series honestly.

Facing the Guardians lineup in Cleveland is hardly the right environment to "wing it". Especially for a guy that's not going to beat guys on pure stuff. Hopefully he can rebound.

I hardly even count that one because it's so insignificant other than a roster spot perhaps wasted for a couple months.
