  1. I'd trust that if the Os go after Cease they believe they can tune him to max his stuff. Maybe the White Sox cave and give him up for less than the moon they wanted at the deadline.
  2. The cherry on top for Santander is that he is a SH that can hit lefties. That's important for us. Again, I just think what Santander provides will be much harder to replace than what Hays provides. I also think Santander is more likely to replicate 2023 than Hays.
  3. I'd much rather trade Hays. I don't like the idea of having to replace Santander's 30 HR/100 RBI. We already need another middle of the order bat to realistically compete for a WS.
  4. We have to trade one of our OF. Whether it should be one of the vets (Santander/Hays/Mullins) or the young guys clearly needing reps in the bigs (Cowser/Kjerstad/Stowers) is up for debate. Most would probably agree it should be either Hays or Santander. This trade makes sense for us. We're getting a guy with one year of control left who is under pressure to perform for a big contract. With a contract year like Rodon had recently for example, he's setting himself up for upwards of 200 million given his age. At worst, he's an established starter that will be one of our best 3ish starters barring injury.
  5. I think Kjerstad has the path to a lot of AB's, and his power can directly lead to production right away.
  6. I would hope we can replace Gibson's innings with someone better. If we are serious about winning a championship we will.
  7. I was going to put in Haskin instead, but really if you’re Seattle I think you’re pushing to a final 4th guy that’s better.
  8. What MOO bat is actually available to trade for? Maybe Luis Robert. Maybe Pete Alonso? Alonso would only be a one year deal, but would be cheaper. I think they end up giving him a big deal though.
  9. Hays, Ortiz, Povich, and Beavers for Bryce Miller and Penn Murphy (SEA). For us: opens up an outfield spot for Cowser/Kjerstad while trading Hays at his likely peak value, the utility role Urias can keep while Westburg starts at 3B or 2B (Holliday eventually at the other). Murphy would help our middle relief right away who is tough on RH, and can lead to hopefully discarding the Bakers and Boumanns of the world. They get a good all around outfielder for a few years which replaces Hernandez (FA), an infielder who can immediately start at 2B, and a high upside SP. Plus Beavers as a potential 4th OF at least. They seem to have endless relievers so losing Murphy isn't that big of a deal for them.
  10. I think we have to keep Santander. There's just no knowing how well or quickly Kjerstsad or any other prospect will come along to replace that kind of production. There's also no sure fire FA I'd expect us to be able to sign to replace it either. We could explore a trade, but I think it's more likely we use our pieces to get a starter.
  11. I liked what I saw from Wells out of the bullpen. Given he has now struggled to stay healthy and productive as a starter two years in a row (and is now approaching 30 years old), I think this is his new role.
  12. How much would we give up for one year of Burnes? I assume there is no way we would pay for an extension.
  13. I'd like a veteran lefty added into the mix. Unfortunately I don't think we will pony up the $$$ for Snell, Montgomery or Rodriguez. How about Martin Perez? He got sort of lost in the shuffle in Texas, but he'd at least replace Gibson's production with some room for upgrade. I'm looking at this really with what we'd realistically pay for. A trade is the only way I see us getting a true TOR caliber starter.
  14. DL Hall could really become a dominant reliever if they went that direction, but obviously they haven't given up on him as a starter yet.
  15. I do think Seattle is a good trade partner. Seems like we match up well, if we want to pick up another young controlable starter.
  16. If we are trying to get a hitter, I'd definitely look at a trade. The options in FA kinda suck. There are some quality options for SP/RP/CL. After this past offseason, I'm not really sure what Elias would be allowed to spend though.
  17. I think Hays, Urias, Mateo, Stowers are gone. I could see it either way with Cowser and O'Hearn. Keep Santander. It'd be nice to get a proven/experienced bat in a trade. People keep talking about Luis Robert. Is there any reason or indication to think the White Sox are trading him? That would make a great transition, to be able to move him to LF eventually if Bradfield pans out in a couple years.
  18. I'm out. It's been a great season but we're toast.
  19. We are going to have to win a game like game 2, except we need the 5 or 6 run inning and hold on to a 10-8 or whatever win.
  20. Was that the falling in love with Cutter?
  21. Two runs behind against Pressly. Wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't blown a two run save all year.
  22. Lopez can't pitch in the postseason. Fuji might be my last guy on the end of the bench. I have faith in Webb.
