  1. It really seems like Elias panicked a bit knowing he needed another starter, but wasn't going to give up enough for Flaherty. I can't remember who else was left at that point? This was my least favorite trade we made at that time and this certainly hasn't changed my mind.
  2. This is pretty much our "A" lineup as long as Westburg is out. Maybe if Mayo nails down the glove side of things he can take over 3B.
  3. Lumbering slugger who doesn't really run or play defense sounds like Met.
  4. This upcoming FA pool looks deeper than usual. Just with outfielders you're looking at Juan Soto, Teoscar Hernandez, Cody Bellinger (opt out), Michael Conforto, Alex Verdugo, and Max Kepler as options along with Santander. Tony may benefit signing now, or risk running into what Teoscar ran into last year and end up having to sign a 1 year deal. Granted, Tony is younger and will likely be coming off a better year. But he may have more competition. I'd do a 3-60 deal if he'd take it. I think that's minimal risk for us, even if his profile screams Mark Trumbo. We can absorb that kind of miss for a couple years if he Trumbo'd out. In the end I think he goes for broke and hopes for a 4-100 type deal (even if it's unlikely).
  5. I'm not fully comfortable Cano as the closer. Sinkers can live and die at any given moment. You want swing and miss. Even Britton would get stung sometimes simply because most balls are at least still going to be in play, and you can always get bad bounces or seeing eye singles. Dominguez and Soto are both more so matchup guys. Kimbrel is a blow up waiting to happen though, I think he's pitched his way out of a closer role.
  6. Gut punch but hopefully he is back for the playoffs. At least this isn't quite as late as the Markakis injury was.
  7. Seriously. As much money as there is in this game and you can't throw up a gimbal camera on each foul poul?
  8. Westburg taken out, hopefully precautionary to get some tests done.
  9. I have a duckduckgo browser specifically up at all times with just this website opened. I haven't had any problems.
  10. I am never letting the board forget they were ready to jet this guy out of here in pretty much any trade plausible.
  11. I think it deserved a high grade because 1. we didn't really give up anything that was going to help in the near future save maybe Norby 2. We didn't give up any of the top prospects, or veterans that would actually play (thus not Hays) 3. every player can be on ( at least) the 2025 team if we so choose
  12. Urias nerves settled after not being traded.
  13. He knew Kirk runs slow enough that he could have probably out ran him to 1B, so he took his time.
  14. He's probably JLC's idol.
  15. So our bullpen help is the Phillies expendable guys.
  16. If we give Burnes 250 million it'd be the shocker of the offseason.
  17. Rodriguez, Eflin, Rogers, Kremer is at least a solid start to the 2025 rotation.
  18. Maybe there's a wink wink nod nod "deal" for Scott in place if Miami isn't happy with other offers by 6PM lol. A sort of overpay now for an underpay later. IDK, just making up rationale in my head.
  19. Norby and Stowers for Eflin sounds more reasonable than for Rogers. I do not understand what happened. There is no way Dominguez was our sole answer for our bullpen.
  20. .... do get Tanner Scott too? Stowers/Norby is a lot for Rogers I think.
  21. Unless this was just a complete fluke, his 2021 season where he struck out 157 in 133 innings. Can we get him back to that? Re: Trevor Rogers
  22. If the Marlins threw in Rogers with Scott it'd at least give us more flexibility with our rotation. I'd still expect Rogers to do better for us as the #5 than the Irvin/Povich/Suarez/McDermott jumble, and there's upside that he can get back to how he threw in previous years since he's under club control through 2026.
  23. What would a Tanner Scott + Trevor Rogers package require?
