  1. Can Kimbrel avoid a baserunner and go 1-2-3?
  2. The suit is too much for me too (to personally wear). But I could care less what any Orioles fan dresses up as. Certainly way more cringy things out there than the cow suit.
  3. Damn is anyone allowed to have fun? Ya'll are a bunch of Buzz Killingtons
  4. Who was Hyde yelling at? Didn’t seem like it was Boone
  5. I don't think Elias will send out a large pool of our top 15 prospects in one trade, especially not for one player. I think he will identify one (or two) of our higher prospects he's willing to trade and build it around that.
  6. Yea I was waiting for someone to figure out the math for me, who would have to be cut. Nobody is missing Baker, Smith, or probably even Irvin. I'd like to keep Akin, he'd be the last guy on my list where I'd prefer not to have to lose him. I know he's been a point of frustration, but I hold hope he can develop into essentially what Danny Coulombe is for us.
  7. You'd toss 2 1/2 years of Jacob Webb for 1 1/2 of Michael Kopech if it came to it?
  8. If he's basically a throw in then sure. But it also means someone is dropping out of the bullpen for him. If we do another trade for a closer, what does the math look like keeping everyone on the roster? Granted it's not like our bullpen is deep, but there are definitely guys we'd want to keep around. I wouldn't want to toss away Webb or Akin (maybe they have options IDK).
  9. Kopech is a mess. Is anyone really trusting him with the game on the line? He's a FA after 2025, it's not like we'd have some time for him to "figure it out".
  10. I agree. I'm not comfortable giving away Bradfield, Beavers, AND Fabian. I think you need to keep either Bradfield or Beavers.
  11. If this season ends like that I'm not sure I would ever be able to watch baseball again (and like most I fully knew the 2005 collapse was coming every step of the way)
  12. At this point I'm not sure I care about losing Urias. Can't we find a trade partner for at least cash considerations? Trade him to the NL? Are we really worried about him helping someone else? He's a fringe starter that is not our best option. Mateo holds some value as a bench piece with his speed.
  13. I think it's time to cut the band aid and remove ourselves from consistent Urias and Mateo at bats. If we want to hang on to Mateo because of his speed, fine. But eventually those two should not be getting starts.
  14. Adley is in his second full year, why does he need a 58/38 split catching games with McCann?
  15. Ah yes I see that on his statcast. Do we believe he can sustain this?
  16. As far as Fedde goes, I really have a hard time getting over trading for a guy that was straight garbage for basically his entire 20's. He goes to the KBO and finds a magic genie? What happened?
  17. I look forward to the days the Mateo, Hays, McCann's of the world aren't getting at bats.
  18. Bro we have the best OPS and 2nd best ERA in the AL. We're not perfect and there are areas for improvement but let's not stray too far in the other direction. This is a good team and I would say definitely better than last year. Burnes wasn't here, Gunnar wasn't this good, and Westburg wasn't this good just to name a few highlights.
  19. He's not getting 400. Given the landscape of risk adverse GMs with pitchers contracts, I'm not even sure he gets 300. 6/250 or something like that is about as much as I could see.
  20. Trading for Taillon would be interesting but I'm not sure what that changes about potential payroll. He's not exactly expensive, but an extra 18 mil a year tacked on is still significant given we've hardly handed out any money to anyone yet. I just assume we are out on Burnes regardless. JT's a decent #3 on a good year and #4 on a bad. You can reasonably expect him to give you 30 starts a year. That cutter is perfect for LH at OPCY. I'd trust Elias's judgement. He could be kind of under the radar in the trade market if the Cubs do sell.
  21. Elias on the phone with CHW as we speak lmao
  22. It would be nice to get one guy with 2025+ control, but I think we can solve that puzzle in the offseason. There will be a number of #3/#4 level starters as FA's. Wacha/Morton/Quintana/Severino/Heaney/Kikuchi/Perez. If we aren't paying up for Burnes.

    Fedde Trade

Agreed. I would do this trade only if it's basically our only real option to add a starter of significance.
  24. Based on who's on the market, I'm getting a rental SP and a rental bullpen arm. Perhaps Fedde but I'm not sure what the White Sox want. I'd aggressively target Skubal in the offseason, when we have a bit clearer pictures on things. I'd be interested in the Cubs pitchers but I'm not sure they will be selling.
  25. I don't like the idea of parting with significant prospects for marginal players. For comparison's sake, we traded for Flaherty last year and gave up basically nothing. Flaherty (even mid season last year) is about as good as some of the guys we are thinking of trading real prospects for. Even if you get an additional year(s) of control, guys like Efflin I'm not trading someone like Norby for. I think we can do better if we are going to jet out the Norbys and Beavers of the world.
