I'm not saying we should non-tender Dean. I agree we need him for depth. But your plan is kind of what the Orioles did this season. In fact, we were all pretty damn happy with our depth in April. We came into the year with:

Burnes, Grayson, Wells, Irvin, Kremer, Bradish (IL, but ready soon), Means (IL, but ready soon), Suarez

We had a 5, with Bradish and Means coming back to make it 7/8. That didnt include Povich/McDermott who I think we all thought would pitch for the Orioles at some point in some capacity. Even with the uncertainty of Bradish and Means, Kremer was probably considered our "5", although the last three were probably somewhat interchangeable. When Bradish and Means came back, Kremer was certainly the 5. Injuries have ravished this team, and while we have been able to stay afloat to this point, its looking less and less likely that we will make any noise this season.

I keep seeing these posts about Bradish coming back soon. He’s not pitching until 2026

This is the Kremer we know and love.  We got to find some better starters.  I think this is not going to be our year.  Except for Burnes can you see ANY one of our starters going six innings with 2 runs or less in the playoffs?  I dont see it.

It won’t be our year. Not even close. Season was lost the second Bradish went down.

Who ends up with the higher career WAR out of Cowser and Westberg?

That’s a great question. Maybe Cowser if he becomes our starting CF

  4. I hope Mayo plays every inning rest of the season of the experience. This season clearly isn’t going to end in a trophy. Probably not even a playoff berth. And that’s ok. These guys are still young.

Here come the usual suspects in game threads who constantly declare that the sky is about to fall, the game is lost, the season is lost, etc., at the first sign of adversity.

Occasionally they are right, although the Orioles have one of the highest winning % in all of MLB so it isn't that often.

The sky has already fallen my guy.
