  1. As an O's fan, I want long term sustained success. I support keeping Holiday down in the minors to gain an additional year of service time. Trade value will be higher in the future because of that. At the end of the day, Elias knows what he is doing and I trust him.
  2. Mountcastle has to be a must start, right? Doesn't he demolish Blue Jays pitching?
  3. I don't understand fans who give their team zero chance to win a game. It's May....It will little to no impact on the rest of the season. I suggest to not watch a single O's game that has them playing a team above .500.
  4. The bullpen was on a different level. Sure the run differential wasn't good but they were talented, which paved way for 2014.
  5. I just checked their trade history on sportac: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/transactions/atlanta-braves/trade/ I didn't go real far back but it does seem out of the norm for them to trade an ace in the middle of a season.
  6. I can't agree with this. The 2014 and 2012 O's are better and its not really close. There is almost a 0% chance Atlanta trades Fried. A potential divisional winner trading their Ace?
  7. I mean, you can say that in the reverse for any waiver wire pickup. Seems like Elias made the correct pickups with Urias and Mateo. I don't think its farfetched to think another GM would have a different assessment of a prospect or MLB player.
  8. Addition by subtraction. Trading Urias frees up a spot. Not every trade has to be a blockbuster of prospects. I believe Ortiz will be a better ball player than Urias and Mateo.
  9. Trading Mateo or Urias is more about addition by subtraction. I would rather have Ortiz than Mateo or Urias.
  10. I never said the Dodgers would have to give up prospects for Urias. He is a serviceable SS for a limited time. If they are considering Betts to be their SS, I don't think it's a stretch to think that Urias can be the SS.
  11. Good point, viewing Urias as a SS is a stretch. Mateo is currently the best SS but does Elias believe it will continue? It's something to keep an eye on. I personally want to see some trade action.
  12. I believe Kremer threw 13 straight fastballs to strike out the side. His fastball was on last night.
  13. Curious, what about Cano gives you Valdez vibes?
  14. I would say no, considering they have Miguel Vargas at 2nd who is also a rookie. If I am the O's, I am trading Mateo or Urias right now if the Dodgers are willing to send back a decent package.
  15. I'm new to forums and need to work on staying on subject. My bad.
  16. You are correct. My judgment is for sure clouded but I think for good reason. This team hasn't signed a single player to a multi-year deal since Cobb, I think? Zero investment in production value with MASN. The core is in the majors, take risks and extend them. Adley should have been extended last year. I am willing to bet if the O's did approach Adley with an extension, Roch would have tweeted about it to show that we are "serious."
  17. I am at the same point with this franchise. I hate that I love this team so much. It's depressing knowing that Adley will only be here for 5 more years. It is complete BS that we have to act like we are the Rays.
  18. The way JA talks, the O's can't afford anyone.
  19. Well yeah, if you take away his best game of the year his numbers would be worse. The game counts and he has good underlying stats. Every game counts, cherry picking to prove a point, doesn't prove the point.
  20. He isn't on pace to beat Judge's HR record. Total letdown.
  21. I'm not ready to put Perez in the "yikes" category. His FIP is still at an excellent 2.67, with a plus fastball. I think Voth will come back around. He looked good yesterday.
  22. I don't think that would be smart. Urias is much better against RHP than LHP in his career.
  23. Come on dude. It's been 11 games. Should the O's trade him for a bag of balls?
  24. I agree with your points. It's still very early in the season. I am a little concerned that Voth has shown a consistent bad streak since spring training.
  25. I agree that he isn't himself. I think the O's have two options with Grayson right now: 1. Let him work out his issues in the majors and have more time with Holt. 2. Option Grayson down to AAA and let him work it out. I personally would have Grayson stay up and work things out.
