Well the college season got kicked off last night with a Delaware 8-7 win over St. Joseph's. There aren't anymore games until next Saturday. Most of the local teams don't start up until the 28th. Navy starts up next Saturday though.

I work for Towson Events, and do sound and other such stuff for most athletic events, so I was there yesterday for a scrimmage between TU and Bucknell. Their squad looks pretty good this year. I mean, they were playing Bucknell, but they still looked cohesive and tight. Could be a pretty good year for them.

I really look forward to getting up to Towson to see the Tigers play this year. I'm also looking forward to coming up to Towson to watch the Bayhawks this year.
Yeah, I just heard that yesterday, which means I'll more than likely be running sound for the Bayhawks, which is awesome for me.

Hi there,

As a Towson Alum, I definitely need to make the trip to see some Bayhawks and Tiger games. The facility is very nice up there. Why hasn't this made any local papers that Towson is the new home for the Bayhawks? This would draw fans from Harford, Baltimore and Carroll counties at least.

As I understand it, its only now being finalized.

The Bayhawks have been selling tickets for Towson for about a month now.
Oh, really?

Jeez, testament to the inter-departmental fragmentation here at TU. My department only got wind of it this week.

In that case, I have no clue why they aren't promoting it more.

Wedge, how many parking spots does the stadium lot hold up at Towson. Do they allow tailgating? The parking was one of the main reasons I was happy about the Bayhawks moving up to Towson.
Tons. Especially during the summer when no classes will be over at the Towson Center (which is adjacent to Unitas Stadium). And if there is overflow, the closest campus lot/garage is only a 5 minute (or so) walk away.

They allow tailgating for TU games, so I don't see why they'd change that for Bayhawks games. I'm getting kinda psyched for this, I hope I get to work most of these games.

    • Oh he’s going to hit it against us. I just hope it’s off a pitcher that isn’t with us for the long term. Like Lyles, or one of our up/down relievers.    But I want to see our pitchers go at him. We’re about building respect in our franchise back, and building confidence for next year.    Hyde is class, and it’s time we got back to that completely.
    • Funny thing … Mantle hit 500th and for the Os, the mighty Mark Belanger hit a HR lol … his only one in 1967 and one of 20 career over 18 seasons
    • Oh we have a history of being part of Yankee lore … Cal breaking Lou’s record, and Stu Miller giving up Mickey’s 500th (when 500 meant something) .. The Yankees were spawned from the 1890s Oriole franchise moved by the fledgling AL to NY as the Highlanders for a season then Yankees pitch to the MFY and strike his butt out four times !!  http://mickeymantle.com/500th-home-run/
    • True, but it's all the writers that make that vote, not just NY voters.  NY writers vote's don't carry more weight than anyone else's. Agree, I like him, overall.   I'll notice.  You'll notice.  Everyone here will notice.   Poking them in the eye, repeatedly.  Very hard, sharp, quick thrusts. But also, who do you want a record set against?  You or someone else?   True. TLDR   I'm not sure when you joined but I know you've been here awhile.  I'm pretty sure we're all well aware of Judge's history against us. If you need to be reminded, it's a .314/.430/.712 slash line with 35 homers.  That's more homers against any team and by a decent amount.  He's got 28 against the Jays and then the next highest amount is 21 against the Sox.   I've seen how our guys do pitching to him for years now and the results are hardly ever pretty.  He's got 9 homers against us this year, which is more than any other team.  I'm pretty sure I know how this story ends.
    • I thought at the time that Hyde likely was saving Mullins for pinch-running in case he needed some speed for the tying run.
    • I agree with this, though I do think we have more internal options for improving our offense than we do with our pitching.  Lots of deep thinking for Elias & co. to do this offseason.
    • Yeah …it really doesn’t matter. I’m not saying we should throw him BP. But try to win the game and make him hit your pitch.
