Why? Sorry but what good does it do to questiquestion AJ or any player? They are playing terribly.

I was responding to the post reporting that Jones had multiple walks in a game immediately after the press asked about his lack of walks.

I’m confused about Pie.   He played more than 50 games in that stretch, and started less than 50.   In any event he had 142 PA in those games, compared to Adam’s 182.

I used the 1PA or greater and the 0 walks or less.  Pie may have been used on defense and no PA's.

Adam can’t be traded without his consent anyway.

His walk rate is low, but it’s only 23 games.    He’s probably had many streaks in his career where he walked 2 times or less in that number of games.    Hopefully he’ll get into a stretch where he’s being more selective.

Edit: For example, last year, he had a stretch of 26 games where he only walked twice in 113 PA.

I think Adam would accept a trade to a contender. He said all along at this stage in his career it;s about winning for him.

For his sake, I hope he gets to play for a winner this year.  He's a good dude and while the sentimental side of me would love to see him finish his career here, I'd love to see him get a shot at postseason glory.  He deserves it.

As long as it's not the Yankees or Red Sox.

He’d be gone in a minute. We might have a BJ Surhoff moment but Jones is a winner. I think you’d see his game magically kick back up too.

Did he not get that in 2012, 2014, and 2016?

Absolutely, but I think the obvious is setting in for many. This team is in no shape of form close to being a contender anytime soon. I think Jones still has more baseball left in him, but he's probably quickly moving into role player rather than middle of the order guy on a good team.

I could see him going to a contender to play RF for a few seasons. I just don't see him wanting to stay here and honestly, with Hays, Mullens, Stewart probably ready in the next two years, and the current state of the Orioles, it probably makes sense for all parties if he goes to another team.

Now the real question is, is his trade value going to be more than his "pick" value if he leaves as a FA. Hopefully he'll turn his season around soon so both will get higher.

Is it a foregone conclusion that he’ll be worthy of a QO?    If he gets one, he may be just the type of player whose market value gets dragged down dramatically by the QO.

I cannot see how he could get one and not take it.

Obviously it will depend on the year he has. I'm guessing his numbers at the ended up the year will get him a QO.
