So I guess the paranoid people who called into 105.7 the fan last week claiming he would back out of his agreement and screw the O's will go into hiding now, lol. Lets play ball :thumbsup1:

No doubt. I was reading some old articles from last offseason, and the Rangers were all psyched at Vlad's arrival, too.

I'm not suggesting that was why they made the Series. But I do think it was one of the many things - both tangible and intangible - that the Rangers did to put themselves in the playoffs last year.

That and of course having a good batch of youngsters coming into their own at the same time. You can definitely see some parallels between their team and ours (am I stretching here?)...

CJ Wilson - Brian Matusz

Tommy Hunter - Jeremy Guthrie

Colby Lewis - Jake Arrieta

Andrus - Hardy

Reynolds - Moreland

Of course, that means we'll have to trade for Cliff Lee this season, but that should be no problem.

The pitching comparisons are fair (outside of Lee) but we have no comparison for Hamilton (the AL MVP)...Kinsler and Andrus are beasts, as well...not to mention Michael Young.

With that said, I think the O's are going to surprise a lot of people this year. When the worst hitters in your starting lineup are Jones, Weiters, and Hardy...you've got a darn good team.

bigbird was our most reliable insider, but he stopped posting for a couple of reasons. I wanna say it was MatthewW that broke the news about Derrek Lee signing with the O's.

Ok thanks, I'm still new so I'm just learning some things on the fly. I also figured since they (Britt, Roch, others) let everyone know when Vlad arrived for his physical, what he was wearing, what his cousin was wearing, his mood and everything else I thought they would report about the press conference.
