Teixeira Drops Boras

Sometimes, business relationships just run their course. Now that the contract is over with, I don’t want to be “Scott Boras client.” I want to be Mark Teixeira, baseball player, helping this team win championships. Scott did a great job getting me my contract. I wanted to be in New York from the beginning, and everything that I’ve asked for has come through so far. And from here on out, there’s no reason to worry about the contract. It’s all about winning championships and helping out the community.

I don't think there's a baseball player I've ever disliked as much as this guy.

Just making note of this quote, if the need shall ever come again:

So he has lost Tex and Arod in the last season. Notice they wait until after they sign the last megadeal of their careers before they drop him?

Wrong forum. This is for Orioles related topics.

Not trying to be a jerk to the OP, just trying to show my lack of interest in the Yankees first-baseman.

Sorry, I found it to be pertinent. But mods feel free to move it if you find it necessary.

I would love to know the real reason for this. Not likely we will ever hear the truth.

I would imagine he wants an agent that is more hands on to negotiate things like appearances and endorsements. Boras is great at getting the most money at contract time but his agency may not place as high a value on the penny-ante representation between contract negotiations.
