And to add insult:

David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution writes that they sent Kawakami all the way down to Double-A because “they want to keep the Triple-A rotation open to pitchers who could have an impact in Atlanta this season.”

And this was one of the comments:

Also, I don’t know who said this, but I have read the Braves wanted to get him out of his Atlanta mansion (AAA Gwinnett is an hour outside of Atlanta) to entice him to help facilitate a trade. Putting him in AA and keeping him away from home could do it.

It is crazy how hell-bent the Braves seem to write him out of their plans. This almost seems like a childish way to get Kawakami to quit, therefore allowing them to recoup their money.

Although I like him and he's settled into a pretty important role, I think it's fair to say Koji has been a bit of a disappointment considering the expectations for him when he first came.

However, let's not forget that this was the other guy we were in on at the time and a lot of people killed the O's for going Koji over Kawakami.
