Indians Shut out Angels, win 8th straight

After losing the first 2 games of the season to the White Sox, including a 15-10 loss on opening day, the Cleveland Indians just shut out the Angels in California for their 8th straight victory. Mitch Talbot (1.46 ERA) pitched 8 shutout innings before Vinnie Pestano closed it out for the 4-0 win. Only the Texas Rangers have a better record in the major leagues.

It's a fluke... their rotation is completely useless unless Carmona actually puts together a great season like in 07 (he's already had 1 horrible start) and if Masterson pitches beyond his potential and becomes a late bloomer.

And oh yeah... Hafner has to return to 06 form and Sizemore has to step up and not stink...

I still predict the Indians to finish 5th in the division.

That's good to hear and why I asked. I'm hoping for a nice easy 6 game stretch to bring our offense to life.

After a horrible outing on opening day, Fausto Carmona had his second consecutive solid outing, albeit in a losing effort. Carmona pitched 7 and 2/3 innings, and gave up only 2 runs (both solo home runs).
