I know that he played with the Blue Jays and all, but I always liked him as a man and as a ballplayer. He threw me a ball when I was a kid, so that probably has something to do with it.

I remember when we we trying to bring him in last season to play firs base and I really wanted him for these sentimental reasons. Anyways, farewell Mr. Delgado. Enjoy your retirement.

What are the odds that he makes the Hall one day? The home runs are there, and the RBI's are sort of there, but just on the surface I think he falls short. Almost a lock that he wouldn't get in on the first ballot. If Jeff Bagwell didn't get in the first try then you can pretty much guarantee that Delgado won't, and Bagwell was the better of the two. I think playing in Toronto for the majority of his career on average at best teams really hurt his name recognition and any appreciation of his overall stats, and his sudden and significant breakdown at the end of his career robbed him of a shot at 500 home runs, even though that number doesn't hold as great significance to some people as it used to.

Down the road maybe he gets in, but there's no chance he gets in on the first ballot, or even the second or third time.

Not standing up for the National Anthem and taking tons of American money. This guy is a first class jerk.

It was God Bless America, not the National Anthem. And I guess not standing for some cheesy patriotic song and drawing a salary for playing a game automatically makes him in Al Queda.

If you're going to knock his personality, do it over something that's actually relevant. Delgado was well within his right to protest a war in a civil means that clearly wasn't directed at anyone.
