Maybe people don't want to lay for something they can get for free elsewhere.

Wow, you've been saving up almost two years for that? The OP even asked, "Should we take it away from a plus feature and make it open to the public?". That gave you the opportunity to reflect this opinion with some couth.

Much of the content you can get elsewhere; often at MiLB.com . Some of the content, you can't get for free anywhere. Some of the content, you can think you're getting free once per year from, say, Sickels, or wherever but you're fooling yourself. Some of the content, you can get similar stuff from BA once per year and then pay BA to get the portion of their opinions that they won't give you for free; but you don't get O's specific updates on an almost daily basis. Even then, you're getting a different opinion from some guys who are very qualified but are covering a lot of ground and are thin on the time they can give specifically to the O's. [On the flip side, you can argue that of course the OH staff aren't following the rest of the league as closely as the BA staff.]

You can look at stats on MiLB. Great; go ahead and think Wilfrido Perez will replace George Sherrill.

An excellent summation. I agree wholeheartedly with your choices for the 2010 rotation' date=' but believe that Wilfrido Perez will earn a spot in the bullpen. He'll either supplement Sherrill, or replace him if he's traded this summer or in the off-season.[/quote']

I was with you on being hopeful for that one. But thanks to the OH 14c/day 'Plus' content, I understood why it was not likely.

Tough to follow that post.

For me there are two reasons. It is not easily accessible on the website, and the updates aren't quite regular enough to warrant my looking very often. I like that we have the feature, just think more could be done: interviews, more frequent updates, footage, etc.

Thanks for caring enough to ask Tony.

Edit. I didn't even realize it was below "Game Threads" on the forums list. Guess I need to open my eyes.

There definitely is something funky about getting in to the Prospect Tracker. It seems to be linked to the general message board log in, not the Plus log in. When I come to the site and go to Depth Chart or MiL Game Summaries requiring a Plus login, and then go to the Prospect Tracker, it is blank and I have to log it specifically at the top of the Prospect Tracker. (But) when I log in to the message board first, then I get content in the Prospect Tracker without having to log in up top. I think it's a site glitch.

That said, I love it. It is a great place to track the progress of individual players. It will be nice to see over the course of the season (or seasons) when some pitcher started using a new pitch more and stuff like that. Great work.

Put a more visable button high on the front page. Sticky it at the top of the Orioles, minors and Game threads for a while as free advertising. Rotate some of the more interesting players each week into the Minor league section to show us what is going on.

For me I kinda forgot and kinda want more of the season to occur so the sample sizes might have more clear meaning for me.

I did look thru the top twenty players on the section today and enjoyed it alot.

That Shoop guy is interesting. Wild name for a latin player.

For me, it's just the lack of discussion, there's no back and forth. It's not that there's a lack of information, but as someone who mostly lurks, it doesn't provide the same entertainment value so to speak as the Orioles Talk, Hangout Club, and even the Minors forum do.

I'm also not as personally interested in the daily or even weekly progress of minor league guys. When someone is performing especially notably in either direction, it usually pops up in the discussion forum and I tend to just use that discussion to stay informed instead of logging in and checking the Prospect Tracker forum.

Just my two cents.

Maybe the tracker could be folded into the minor league boards and all the important info from Tony and Staff could be sticked for each player and then we could comment below but the tracker stats and write ups would be at the top of each players post and lineup in chronolgical order like it does now and our banter would line up chronologically below that. Dont even know if the programs will allow this to work. Or if it would be too chaotic.

Until recently, I couldn't reach it for some reason. The navigation is awkward. Now that I've found the path, I'd hate to see it disappear. Without it, the only time I hear about certain players is when they have a great night or someone goes on a rant about wasted draft choices.

I wish I could give you a specific reason. I tend to look at it later in the season, mostly when we're discussing making moves for the MLB team.

I think you could generate more hits there by having a weekly "Who's Hot" update, stickied in the Minors forum (maybe even the Orioles Talk) forum. In the update, put breadcrumbs to the individual players' PT threads, and a note like "For more information on Orioles prospects, check out the Prospect Tracker forum here."

I think people just miss it in general, after checking the Orioles Talk and Minors forums. You would likely get more hits by having it linked to in these forums.

It's just not part of my normal daily routine, so I visit infrequently. When I do visit, I usually go to look up a single player and end up staying through 5-10 players just because it is so interesting.

I think a lot of people go to other minor league sites for data and don't realize a better (data + interviews + write-ups) and more convenient tool for O's prospects is just a click away.

You should be fine now. Sorry about that. Not sure how that happened but you are fixed now. Hopefully you will find value in the board.

Tony, I'm having the same problem as Absltgreek. There are no forums available to look at in the Prospect Tracker. Let me know what I can do to solve this. Thanks.

Thanks for the comments. We decided to try making it a sub-forum here in the minors section in order to bring it more visibility. another thing, please remember that any plus members can post information or their own scouting report on the player. Remember though, only information posts (maybe like stats that have not been covered like LD%, k/9, etc or a report from another source) or personal scouting reports are allowed. The reason we don't want a discussion board here is because we want one area where you can quickly review how a player has done over the year. We don't want it to bogged down with discussions on his progress, but rather one place where a fairly detailed view of his progress throughout the year can be found. You also can link to articles written about the player from other sources.

This is a community project so feel free to add information.
