So long as he is going to be used in relief, it makes sense. As I posted 4 days ago:

If we plan to leave Klein in a relief role all year, I really don't think we should keep him at Frederick very long. I'd move him to Bowie by mid-May. However, if they still plan to give Klein some starts at some point, and are just managing his innings, then it probably makes sense to keep him in Frederick all year.

Wow this is a huge shock, is this any hint that we are permanently keeping him as a bullpen arm? If not he is probably going to be in Bowie for awhile, I can't imagine him starting for the first time in Nolfork next year.

If he tears up AA, then he will be up here at some point this year...if he shows well in the majors as a reliever, he will not move back to starter.

Either way, if they plan on keeping him as a reliever, I wonder how that influences the team's plan for him.

Reliever Dan Klein, last year's third-round pick out of UCLA, will be promoted tomorrow from Frederick to Bowie. Klein has allowed two runs and nine hits in 15 2/3 innings, with three walks and 21 strikeouts.
