Nothing of interest taking place in Chicago tonight.

I'd say a no-hit loss with seven walks and six stolen bases allowed is weirder than 27 up, 27 down that just happened to start a batter into the game.

Even when the first pitcher was Babe Ruth and he tried to kill the umpire after said first batter? :P

While I do congratulate him, am I the only that looks at these kinds of no hitters and is just kind of like "Meh"? I mean yeah he didn't give up a hit, but he gave up 6 walks. How much of a difference is there really between giving up 6 hits and giving up 6 walks?

Here's a weird bit of data: Liriano threw the same exact number of strikes yesterday (66) and had the same number of strike outs (2) as Brad Bergesen did in his 5 inning performance against the Royals. Like any other cherry picked stat, that doesn't tell you a whole lot by itself of course. Still.

Good. Further evidence that jinxes, whammies, and curses are bull ****, and that what people say, type, think, etc. has nothing to do with what goes on in the field. Philip Humber was throwing a no-hitter for 6 and 1/3 innings against the Yankees last week, and he and his catcher were talking to each other on the bench in between innings, which was very refreshing to see.

So you're saying it's bad luck to be superstitious?
