How did Bergy look the first two inngs?

Struggled in the first, but got out of it and then only threw 6 pitches in the 2nd and looked good. Unfortunately he's throwing a lot of pitches again in the 3rd.

The real question is, why is Izzy up at all?

He was 4 for 9 lifetime against Davis before that at bat.

Thanks. He's looked pretty good with his command in the 3rd, but the ump isn't calling the pitch right on the edge. The only concern I have is that he's not getting on top of the sinker.

Yeah but that is a small sampling size and most likely a fluke.

Why does it always seem that Izzy is up with runners in scoring position and then fails to deliver? Or for that matter, without runners on base?

I've got to assume that other teams treat him like National League teams treat the pitcher. It's ok to have runners on with him coming up because chances are greatly in your favor that he won't hurt you.

All the criticism Nick took last year for not hitting homers has changed his approach.

He never would have swung at that pitch in 2009.
