I don't get it. If the ump wants to go home, why doesn't he narrow the strike zone, rather than widening it? A wide strike zone means your hitters will either be striking out on balls, or swinging at pitches that they think will be expanded strikes, but aren't very hittable pitches. In other words, more outs, no runs, and a long, long, long game.

I think the ump wants to stay behind home plate until the 21st inning, not get the game over with.

You guys catch that? Buck was thinking about what he would do if Scott got to first there, I bet. That was funny with the little head cock each way.

Scott swung at an awfully bad 3-1 pitch there.

You'd put Izturis on there and bunt him over with Roberts. At least that's what I'd do.
