Who Would You Consider Dealing?

Yes, I realize it's early, but I'm curious about the feeling at the Hangout as to which players should be deemed "available" as the trade season approaches.

Would you test the market on Guthrie? Does the anti-Jones crowd still favor dealing him?

Which O's make your early list of Players I'd Seriously Consider Trading, under the early assumption that we're not true contenders?

Everything depends are where they are in the standing in late July.

My opionion on who should be available is basically anyone. I would be very reluctant to trade controllable pitchers, Weiters, AJ and Felix, but I would listen to anyone and would not hesitate to move most anyone else if I thought it was best for the team.

Well, a lot is going to depend on who has played well this season. If we're projecting current numbers out, I think you have to look at trading Guthrie, since he would probably get a pretty decent return package and, hey, we're not scoring any runs for him anyway. Of course, he could contract Millwood syndrome and let the lack of run support completely get to him between now and then. A lot can change.

I am against dealing Jones. Others I would consider are Luke and Vlad.

I think everyone should be open to discussion except Wieters, Matusz, Britton. Who do I really want to deal? Adam Jones and Vlad (meaning I'd probably take a little less in return than what a lot of people think they are worth.) Who would I trade straight-up for value, obviously as equated to prospects or younger talent: Luke Scott, Brian Roberts. DLee, Jeremy Guthrie in that order.

Who Would I trade for slightly more value in return: Everyone else.

Well, in the right deal, I would deal anyone..Obviously, no player is or should be untouchable.

In terms of realistic options to deal:

Guthrie- he is a must trade if his value stays up

Scott

Gonzo

Gregg

Koji

JJ- He could fetch a lot if he is pitching well...could be a big time sleeper trade chip for us

Lee

Vlad

Hardy- Only if he has no interest in an extension and you get more value back than draft picks.

I'd add Jones to that list we could get a lot back for him IMO. And we still have Felix.:laughlol:

If the O's are not contending I would consider trading anyone over 30. Plus Hardy if he will not sign an extension.

So that includes Guthrie, Scott, Lee, Vlad, Roberts, Koji, Gonzo and Gregg if the deal is right.
