I have never even looked inside the book, much less read it, so I am not even all that interested in the movie.

I will say, the book is a fascinating story, but it hasn't aged well. "Oh, we're so awesome! We got Brant Colamarino in the draft! Haha, suckers!"

I liked the book a lot, but that has less to do with the factual aspects, like Beane's "amazing" draft picks (many weren't). Michael Lewis just really nailed the subject, made it fascinating. But that's what he does.

You are not kidding. Beane looks like a numbskull after that draft strategy has backfired. Funny, some his best draft picks have been high school arms. It was a fascinating book by Lewis but I'm not sure whether I'm interested in the movie or not.

I just looked up Dollar Sign on the Muscle on Amazon....wtf?? Why is the price so high?? It sounds interesting.....but mayeb as a library book I would have to do it.. ahhahaa

It's unfortunate that it's out of print, and that used copies are so expensive. But if you can find one for a reasonable price you wouldn't be disappointed.

Yeah, its out of print. I bought it from this site that sells used library books for 20 bucks or so. I'll see if I can dig up a link for you.
