Does trading for Hanley make any sense?

Marlins fans are clamoring for a trade. Obviously there's a big difference between an organization shopping him and fans clamoring for him to be moved... but let's hypothesize.

If it took Machado + Pie, would you want Hanley Ramirez?

My feeling is that he's a horrible fielding SS but you could easily throw him in LF or maybe even 3B. This would also require extending Hardy since our long term SS would be gone.

I'd do what it takes to get Hanley in Orange and Black.

If it could be done without trading Britton or Machado, so much the better.

Hardy would immediately slide over to second base and Hanley at SS. Our infield offense would immediately become respectable. Add a slugging 1B in the future and suddenly the Orioles have some real talent on their MLB roster and should have an ample opportunity to properly develop a pipeline of position talent below that, since any urgency to rush guys through the system would be potentially negated.

So... doesn't this all assume that he stops with the hitting .200 with no power or patience or defense stuff, like right away? What's the plan to get there, and if you know why haven't you told Nick?

Wait a second... you would move one of the best fielding SS in the league over to 2B in favor of the 2nd worst fielding SS in the league (behind Jeter)?

Like I said in the OP, if we do get Hanley, he's getting moved to another position. I don't want him to even think he has a shot at playing SS (think Alfonso Soriano with the Nats circa 2006 ;))
