On a side note, I think it's pretty shameful that ESPN isn't dimming the lights, putting on some Barry White, and breaking out the cocoa butter for the lead-up to Thome's 600th homer like they did for Jeter's 3,000th hit. Jeter is the 28th player to get 3,000 hits, while only 7 players have ever hit 600 or more home runs. I guess that's the breaks when you don't play for one of the two teams that matter.

That is a GREAT GIF! Thome's 600th will get coverage. Hes not playing everyday and hadn't hit a HR in forever until this bomb. When he gets two more and is at 598, they will be talking about the 40 year old chasing 600 everyday.

Hit Tracker has this tied for 8th in MLB this year in true distance at 464 feet.

For comparison's sake, that is 24 more feet than Reynolds's longest HR this year.
