Huff on Anita Marks today at 4

O no

JTrea, the horse is dead, man, the horse is dead... ;)

Glad you said it...I don't want to be accused of following JT around and harassing him about Millar (though that is EXACTLY what he is doing TO Millar)

Where is Moose with his "beating a dead horse" cartoon?

Supposedly on deadspin.com. It's NSFW so I'll watch it when I get home from work...

OKay...just watched the video. Although I will this is an adult show and Aubrey can do what he wants, I also defy anyone, even JT himself, to say this is not 100 times worse than anything Millar did. Either way, I think Huff may be traded during the offseason. It wasn't porn or anything, but certainly not something the Orioles will be proud of either. I swear, through NO fault of the Orioles, more and more of the team is just embarassing us over and over again!

Didn't the O's front office allow Millar's shenanigans? How is it not at all their fault?

As soon as I wrote that I knew I'd get some feedback. Let me assure you, I have no problem with what Millar did. But seeing the Huff video, and then hearing his ho-hum response to it in the Sun, I think he was an embarassment to himself more than to the organization or the fans.

Exactly, and the one thing Huff did that Millar didn't do is apologize to the people that were offended. Millar basically said he didn't give a hoot what the fans thought. Huff at least apologized and admitted he was a dumba**. Millar could take a few PR lessons from Huff in that regard...

I think both are idiots. Nothing good could come from what they did in the eyes of a Baltimore sports fan. And it's not about being politically correct or giving only "Ripken soundbites." It's about NOT calling the city you play in "horse****" and NOT openly rooting for a hated division rival on national tv in the playoffs. There's plenty of area in between that can be covered by these guys.

Beyond the fact that these two guys should have no place on the team roster for their baseball abilities, their lack of common sense and decency should preclude them from ever being cheered in an Oriole uniform ever again. I doubt they will ever get booed, however, given the Angelos-created apathy of the fanbase.

Huff's an idiot. It was one thing to apologize, but then he blows it by completely acting like he didn't do anything wrong, and not understanding why what he said would offend someone. I mean, if I was Marks or Roch, I would have been like, so you're from Texas, right? Texas is a horse**** state. Hows' that make you feel, Aubrey?

I didn't care before, but he's so stupid I can't help but get offended in retrospect.

Well there are a lot of idiots in baseball, ours just happen to love the public eye...

It's one thing to do something that indirectly offends a city and not understand (even though Millar did in hindsight) and to do something that directly insults the city and then basically insult the city AGAIN by saying it's no big deal. He's in a special class of moron.

I just watched the video (in the library no less... where's Carl Monday?) and all I know is that I'd have painted her too.

    • You mean the Montgomery who had a 9.0 ERA AGAINST US in the playoffs and still won?  Yeah. Bud you keep beating this horse, but as it turned out the Orioles didn't pitch, hit or play def the same way in the playoffs.  IF they had done that, perhaps it would have proven that the pitching was the reason the 23 playoffs ended for the O's.  I mean I agree that I wish we had gotten Montgomery.  But if Grayson pitched against Texas the way he pitched against Tampa or Wash in his last two starts...at the very least the O's do not get swept.  And maybe they get on a roll.  We don't know. We do know that the best hitter for the Orioles in the playoffs last year was Jorge Mateo who outhit the entire team in one game (except Gunnar) going 4-5 in Game 3.  That kinda tells you something. And not specifically to your point, but even though Bradish exited game one in 4.2 innings, he outlasted Heaney for the Rangers.  Game one comes down to the Jacob Webb HR, otherwise the bull pen does good work.  Win Game 1 and well everything looks different.  It didn't.  But not because of the point you consistently make that the Orioles failed to get a starter like Montgomery.   They failed to perform pretty widely.  As is won't to do in a three game series. Simply repeating it over and over, doesn't make it so.
    • True. When Means gets activated off of the IL is ERA will be 0.00. He’s not going to get handed a rotation spot, but I think he’ll replace Tate in the pen.  I do wonder about the AAA defense. The IF seems really shaky and if Norby/Kjerstad are the everyday COF then oh my.
    • First game up this season.  He played a whole 2 games in the field in the MLB last year and might have been a little nervous that it is a sign that the team doesn't trust him in the field.
    • I wonder if Kjerstad will be back in Norfolk when the team returns to Baltimore.
    • 3/15 base is the rumor, which breaks down to a 2/12.2 extension after his rookie deal expires.  That's an absolute steal, and even with a huge amount of incentives, I can't believe the Ravens got him to sign this cheaply.
    • Anyone notice him smiling as he got into the box for his final at bat?   I think he was feeling a little better about life after making solid contact twice in a row.
    • I would feel better about this game if he would foul off a few close ones with 2 strikes-like Kjerstad did last night-instead of just watching them go by. Take those pitches on the outside to the opposite field.  If your expecting 1 pitch but get another, fight it off. I'd be happy with another hit before another 15 ABs go by. Maybe throw in a few 95+ EV in there too.
