Over the years the Skankees seem to have a knack for picking guys up off the trash heap and they contribute.

Bartolo pitched very well. He's been a big part of the Skanks smoke and mirrors pitching staff's success.

Why do the Skanks seem to get these results all the time on guy's the rest of the league has given up on? Is it just that they are willing to gamble with the $$$ while other teams aren't?

They have an in house blood spinner.

Maybe coaching and training. I recently read the Yankees had spotted a mechanical flaw in Granderson's swing several years ago and were looking for the opportunity to acquire him. His improvement since joining them is supposedly due to this correction.
