I'm not sure if I've ever looked forward to a series the way I am right now. Let's wreck this for the Sox.

Yeah, this is definitely our playoffs, and even though the Sox fans are going to keep rubbing that in our faces, the truth is the Sox NEED to beat us to get in. Its time to open up a can of whoop a$$ on the $ox and knock em out.

God can have their souls, but their a$$es belong to us!

That sort of makes it their playoffs too.

I was until Dipper reminded me that they can and probably will clinch it on our soil. The odds are def in their favour. I hope that we at least beat them the day they do clinch.

BOB! There's no room for vibes like that this week. We have to sweep a reeling team on our turf. I say we go after them dirty, too. I'd throw at their 3-5 hitters and MAKE them retaliate. This should be a complete meltdown on thier part, and I'm going to love every minute of it.

Its really a shame Palpebon didn't blow it against NY last night. If Boston came in even with Tampa it would have been even better! Now we HAVE to win to help Tampa out.

Beckett has struggled against us this year, hopefully the trend continues!

I trust Hunter to get us into the 6th or 7th inning with a chance to win, but he hasn't had many starts that were good from beginning to end. End your season on a positive note, Tommy!

    • Gray has a full no trade, and has expressed his desire to stay in St Louis. It's doubtful that he's going to be traded.   Edited to say that I see you mentioned the same thing in a later post.
    • The standard before was just Eduardo Rodriguez, Daniel Cabrera, Luis Matos, Sidney Ponson, and Schoop, for like 50 years. 🤣. Koby Perez is doing alright.  Also, I count Felix Bautista as an Oriole DSL signing. It doesn’t matter to me that he originally signed with another team and played a bit.
    • I'd feel a lot better about him if he had a strong 2nd half like Snell did, after suffering early from the weird late contract thing. Unfortunately, JM's halves were pretty similar.  That said, his 2024 does present as a pretty clear aberration when looking at his career. So it will be up to scouting and data analysis to determine if there's a bounceback in him. Seems like an expensive dice roll to me.
    • Yet another reason why baseball has to get rid of deferred contracts and have a salary cap. Ohtani’s contract was bad for everybody but the Dodgers and Ohtani. It’s bad for California, our country, and let’s be frank here: bad for the sport.
    • I know everyone from the Diamondbacks is doing their best not to distress their asset any further, but Passan's piece this morning digesting the GM Meetings is I think the first big-time reporter reporting he is on the block with ARZ paying some of his too high salary down. He is a Rohrschach as the 2024 was genuinely atrocious.    I'm inclined to give him a grace as overexertion in October 2023 plus the weird contract scenario was I think a bridge too far.    He was one of my favorites at the July 2023 deadline that became Flaherty, and I think it screams Elias target that he'll be on a 1-year term in 2025. Jordan Montgomery, left-handed starter: The Diamondbacks want to move him and will eat some of his $22.5 million salary to do so. He's near the top of the list of players likeliest to get dealt after a rough 2024, and he'll head to his new team with plenty to prove as another go-around at free agency beckons
    • Yes, great players are always helpful. They improve your margin for error.
    • Why would you say that after the year EBJ just had? He is my Mullins replacement.
