A big fall from Mahoney or Avery could get people talking. The rest pretty much are what they are.

Careful, when we Orioles fans hear "big fall" we tend to think of the immediate, incipient decline of our over-the-hill FA signings and relief pitchers.

I didn't see this anywhere so I though I post . Orioles play for Mesa Solar Soxs. Season starts today

Pitchers: Steve Gleason, Steve Johnson, Casey Lambert, Cole McCurry

Cathers: Brian Ward

Infielders: Joe Mahoney

Outfielders: Xavier Avery,

Per Melewski: "AFL note: I reported earlier that Joe Mahoney would miss the beginning of games for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League due to an oblique injury. The latest update now is that Mahoney could be in the Mesa lineup as soon as this weekend or maybe by Monday."

Melewski also has a nice interview with Sean Gleason.

Mahoney has to overcome his constant health issues. Reminds me a lot of Nolan Reimold early in his minor league career. Always having nagging injuries.

After the first week of play:

Xavier Avery is hitting .063 (1 for 16). At least he's outhitting Bryce Harper (1 for 19)!

Steve Johnson has pitched 3 scoreless innings, while Sean Gleason has allowed 1 ER in 3 IP and Cole McCurry has allowed 2 ER in 3 IP.
