Hoes might play, he has a tendon issue in his index finger and they are unsure of his recovery time.

Nothing to get too worked up about, but I suspect Cole McCurry will see some time in Baltimore's pen in 2012 if he can get some command issues worked out. He looked very good in relief at Bowie last year.

Per Melewski: "AFL note: I reported earlier that Joe Mahoney would miss the beginning of games for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League due to an oblique injury. The latest update now is that Mahoney could be in the Mesa lineup as soon as this weekend or maybe by Monday."

Mahoney has to overcome his constant health issues. Reminds me a lot of Nolan Reimold early in his minor league career. Always having nagging injuries.

My question to that is, is that 97 strait as an arrow or has he improved on getting more movement on the heater?

After the first week of play:

Xavier Avery is hitting .063 (1 for 16). At least he's outhitting Bryce Harper (1 for 19)!

Steve Johnson has pitched 3 scoreless innings, while Sean Gleason has allowed 1 ER in 3 IP and Cole McCurry has allowed 2 ER in 3 IP.
