Evidently the problem is whether or not he was a professional player when playing in his native Ukraine. I really hope not. I've heard from a few people that have been to practices that he's a legitimate talent who could really have an impact this year.

Having him be denied would be a huge blower. If I recall correctly, MD hasn't had the best luck with the clearinghouse in the past. Hopefully that changes this time.

This isn't the least bit surprising. I've been saying all along he'll be a big help IFFFFFFFFFFFF he's eligible. And the NCAA LOVES LOVES LOVES LOVES to screw over European players. Same thing happened with Enes Kanter last year with Kentucky. He went third overall but never got to do more than practice.

Seriously, it'd be more of a surprise to hear Randy Edsall say the word "accountable" than to have Len be declared ineligible.

I agree. Really, really hope that he can play. Would be killer if he can't. Is there any time table for the clearinghouse to make a decision?

Apparently will be declared ineligible tomorrow, which will not matter much as it will go to appeal. Terps believe they have an excellent case for him being approved.

This is pretty much the standard procedure. Almost no one is approved without an appeal. The NCAA is stupid.

Showed, Len showed some good ability. You can't take too much from what happened last night, but he didn't look like a stiff.

Right. That's what you can really take from these things. You find out whether the guy is a talentless stiff, or a kid with some potential. I think it's clear that Len (and Faust) fit into the latter category.
