McDonough leaves Cubs

John McDonough, President of Baseball Operations for the Cubs leaves the team and takes a similar position with the Chicago Blackhawks.

So what happens w/ the Cubs now? With no new ownership group in place yet and now, no one really above Hendry, does his plans/budget get put on hold? Does this really change anything??

I thought about putting this in the Orioles Talk forum just because it may have a direct impact on the O's. Will Hendry be allowed to add a big contract (i.e. Someone like Tejada) or does he have to wait until a new President of Baseball Operations is selected? Would current ownership want to hire a new P.B.O. knowing that the next ownership group may want to bring in their own people??
