Thanks, looks like the 66-74 version but maybe it is tweaked slightly but I doubt. Would be sneaky if the Orioles were subtly showing us the new version this whole season with the catcher's helmet. Maybe that is why they let Tatum leave, he had the hockey style.

Is it just me, or does the one on Wieters helmet look a little different than the original '66 bird? Beak seems longer.

The helmet logos were slightly different than the cap logos. Here's an actual helmet from the sixties:

That logo is painted on. Later, they would use a decal, which I'm pretty sure stayed the same all the way up to '88:

Does AM get credit for the change if this is true? I don't know... He didn't draft MW but he did sign him and perhaps he did sign off on the change but he won't be around to see it official.

Completely agree, seems like the logo is stretched. Probably a printing issue haha
