Well if the wild card round is any indication.. the networks don't like the AL teams. Banished all AL games to the afternoon. Which is fine on the weekend, but sucks for us working stiffs during the week. -
I am very concerned. Especially since we'll likely be playing the Rays who curb stomped the Blow Jays this weekend (who had much more to play for this weekend than Boston). Yes, we are playing w/ house money at this point, but I would at least like the playoffs to be competitive and not have a repeat of the 2014 ALCS. Someday I want this team to be like the Rays... who when half their roster is out for the year they are still rolling through opponents. And will likely continue vs the Rangers.

Up 550,000. I’d hardly call that awful. You can’t lose 100+ games three times in four years and have a pandemic in the other and expect to recoup all your attendance from the last time you were a playoff team in two years. -

We have gone over this repeatedly. Hicks' salary through 2025 is locked in based on his contract with the Yankees. Unless someone wants to pay him more than the 9.5M per year his Yankee contract will pay, he will simply sign for the minimum and the remainder of the 9.5M per year will be paid by the Yankees. -

I mean I do agree with the many people who say here that if Cowser or Kjerstad or some other hitter emerges as good or better than Santander, then yes of course it makes sense to trade him. But I just don't trust prospect rankings. Don't assume a player will be as good as high as he ranked until he proves it over a period of time. In 2016 Jorge Mateo was the Yankees top prospect, just ahead of Aaron Judge -- just to name one example. For this reason I think Santander hangs around a little awhile -- unless the O's trade for or sign a replacement outfield bat prior to the season -- in addition to trading Santander.
