Let's quote Connolly's statement here: "my sense is Cuddyer is near the top of the Orioles’ wish list." Well, he probably got that "sense" from what Buck said on MLB TV the other day when he was asked if he could have any player who isn't on the Orioles on his team, and he said "probably someone like Michael Cuddyer." But who knows what Dan Duquette thinks about that, and who knows how much money we are talking about. I think we know one thing, if the Phillies chase Cuddyer, the Orioles will need to beat their offer by a substantial margin. It seems unlikely that it will be worth it. In any event, no need to get hot and bothered by what is clearly just speculation by Connolly based on some random remarks by Buck. If we actually make him an offer, we can see what it is and react. I wouldn't mind Cuddyer at all, at the right price.

Cuddyer turns 33 this coming March.

You will have to give him 4 years, at least, to get him here.

You will have to pay him enough to the point where he is going to have be worth 10 wins or so in those 4 years, to get your money's worth.

In the last FIVE years, he has been worth 40.2 million...In 2008, he only appeared in 70ish games and had a WAR of zero.

He hasn't played LF since 2006 and hasn't been that good defensively in RF.

Cuddyer's name has been floated around a lot...I think this is a lot more than speculation.
