Seth Smith | Rockies

Colorado Rockies outfielder Seth Smith may be a target of several clubs this offseason, and the M's like the player, tweets Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com.

Smith, a left-handed hitter, could pair with Casper Wells to form the left field platoon for the Mariners in 2012. The club has offensive needs and Smith rakes versus right-handed pitching -- .290/.364/.518 for his career.

The 29-year-old Smith, who is arbitration eligible this winter for the first time, is generally considered an average defender.

Other clubs that could see Smith as an attractive option include the Los Angeles Dodgers, who could team up Smith with Juan Rivera in left field, the Baltimore Orioles and Minnesota Twins.

Has anybody seen Smith play or have any notes on him. No disrespect to Smith but I had never heard of him before reading Churchill's comments tonight in Insider.
