I'd like to think that Baltimore is a progressive city, and further that its teams have open-minded front offices. Accordingly, I wholeheartedly support the Orioles' choosing to look at Abreu. I support their liking him in the abstract. Hell, they can ask Abreu to f---ing prom for all I care.

But if they attempt to sign him, I will be pissed on a volcanic scale.

They are very interested in a 3rd baseman. They would likely want Reynolds. If they want to send Abreu to us for Reynolds, they had better also be including at least one very good prospect. Abreu and 9 million is negative value.

I would be all over that trade. I know it's not likely, but if the deal is based on these players (with a throw in or two), I would actually look at it.

Gregg is a liability in the pen for the Orioles and would be an addition by subtraction, and with his salary, it would negate part of the Abreu contract.
