None of the pitchers he has drafted are yet significant major league prospects. Other teams are also prioritizing drafting position players. I am concerned that this is driving down the market value of position player prospects and driving up the price for pitching prospects. Teams no the Orioles have a glut of position players, we can see from what Elias said about the trade deadline teams are looking to exploit our position.
I am never optimistic in regards to baseball postseason. I lived through 1966 and 1969… through 1970 and 1971… through 1979 and 1983… it is always a total crapshoot. We could just as easily win the World Series as lose 3 in a row in the division series.
It has been 40 years since the WS though .. we have lost postseason wise every time since 1983 .. we are due, I hope lol
Felix was a DD pickup but when did his career start taking off?
Cano? Wells? Who says the draft is the only way to acquire and develop pitching? Who cares where it comes from as long as it’s good?
'On September 18 [1977]...the Orioles had a "Thank Brooks Day." A crowd of 51,798 streamed into Memorial Stadium to honor him. It was, up to that time, the largest regular-season crowd in Baltimore history.
For the game on the following day, the Orioles drew 3,325.'
