Reynolds only had one. Tolleson was credited with the second.

It still amazes me that folks think he is "good" over at first.

Yeah, I just realized Tolleson had the second error. And while it was a poor decision by Reynolds, I can't really argue about that E being credited to Tolleson, because if he hangs on (and he clearly should have), the run wouldn't have scored.

Reynolds shouldn't play on defense anymore. We have our DH, we just don't want to use him as a DH.

Game's not over, and we're still winning, but Mark Reynolds 2 errors here in the 5th inning has Boston on the board and Hammel's pitch count up to 94.

Can't believe they gave that second error to Tolleson.....throwing to 3B was a boneheaded mental error. And the runner was going to beat the throw, even if it hadn't sailed past Tolleson. That inning was my final breaking point. Reynolds single handedly negated a solid start by Hammel. His glove needs to be confiscated, burned with gasoline, and then encased in cement.

I would agree with you if the run wouldn't have scored there. If Tolleson makes that catch, and he should have, the runner is safe, sure, but because he doesn't, the run scores. That's the scoring decision right there.

They have 3 of them and at least one has to be in the field every night.

Reynolds has been getting a lot of time in the field. Why? He is the worst defender of the three, so I don't really buy that excuse.

I am not sold he is worse then Davis at first. It is a lose/lose with either of them. Shame they didn't try and put Reynolds in left, maybe he can do that?

Davis is much worse. Reynolds botches plays, but he doesn't outright DROP balls thrown to him like Davis does, and Reynolds is clearly superior at scooping balls in the dirt than Davis is.

This. :agree: I think the IF have more confidence throwing to Reynolds than Davis. I would. Reynolds has 1E in 85 IN, at 1B, Davis has 4E's in 335, and Betemit has1 in 62.

    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
    • Well it certainly doesn't look like he'll be winning Rookie of Year award. And if we send him down for like the tiniest amount of time, we get him for another year, right? I think if this poor hitting continues it's financial mismanagement not to send him back down. Grayson got sent down and came back way better.
    • He certainly isn't a bust but I wasn't happy with the pick at the time and I don't love using the second overall pick for that type of player profile. Westburg signed for slot so he's irrelevant but Mayo was a great use of the money saved.
