Looks to me like Matusz is straining to keep his velocity up. That is taking all the life out of his fastball. It's just high and straight.

Disappointing night for Matusz. He's following three great performances and then comes out and lays an egg. He really needed to get off to a good start and unfortunately, he just wasn't able to do it. This crap[ performance should have his naysayers up in arms and honestly, it's hard to blame them. The breaking stuff is pretty good but he;s not fooling the good hitters. Right now he reminds of when Bruce Chen pitched for the Orioles. Soft tossing left-hander that you are just waiting for the sky fall on.
