Disappointing night for Matusz. He's following three great performances and then comes out and lays an egg. He really needed to get off to a good start and unfortunately, he just wasn't able to do it. This crap[ performance should have his naysayers up in arms and honestly, it's hard to blame them. The breaking stuff is pretty good but he;s not fooling the good hitters. Right now he reminds of when Bruce Chen pitched for the Orioles. Soft tossing left-hander that you are just waiting for the sky fall on.

I don't know if this is quite fair, Tony. His velocity is fine, though he's overthrowing on some of the fastballs. But his issue today is command. The fastball's not going anywhere close to where he wants it to go.

Funny you say that. He then throws an 89 and 90 for strikes.

Yup. He was never a 94 mph fastball guy. Just locate that damn 89-90 fastball damn it! His curve slider and change have always been his plus pitches.

You guys see Cano sling his helmet? That guy is a f(@#*$(@*# moron roid rager. I swear every Yank is such a bad sport about anything not being handed to them on a golden platter.

...What?

If anything, the run for the bat boy is shorter. :laughlol:

Yeah, because he's getting behind with that garbage high, straight fastball. He's going to have to forget about velocity and figure out a way to get it done. He needs to talk to Scotty McGregor.

Or, maybe he was upset because he just hot a ball on the nose and the ball sliced into the SS's glove? He killed that ball. Matusz was not fooling anyone. Well at least when he actually got the ball over.
