JJ threw 14 pitches and one inning last night, for some reason I thought he went longer.

Buck was talking about how Mark hasn't gotten going yet (defensively), and said he's streaky offensively, but they don't want him to be streaky defensively. He said they were concerned with Davis at third because of his arm. He said there's effort and caring, but that he over thinks it and that he hopes as the season goes on he settles in.

Palmer went on to talk about how 3B is such a reflex position that requires rapid fast decision; Thorne interrupted to matter of factly state that those types of plays (like the one last night) have to be made. Palmer went on to say that with a guy like Reynolds was going to struggle with that position (insinuating that he just doesn't have what it takes). Thorne again threw out there that the bottom line is, he's a big league 3Bmen and he needs to make those plays, to which Palmer replied "Then they should have thought about that when they acquired him." Palmer concluded that if they're so desperate for his 35+ home runs then they have their DH.

Their conversation sounds like an OH thread.
