An odd note on mlbtraderumors that "scouts" are saying the O's would "do anything" to trade Reynolds and Gregg. When you click the link of "do anything" it goes back to a 3/23/12 post on mlbtraderumors about trying to trade both. There's no updated information. Is this news?

My bad, it's Jayson Stark reporting on info he just got from some scouts: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/page/rumblings120420/baseball-banning-personal-service-deals-all-milestone-bonuses

The original article was discussed on the OH, but I hadn't heard the "do anything" part yet. The Orioles obviously would not "do anything" to trade either of them or they would have been gone a long time ago. That type of exaggeration always leaves me skeptical about the author's intent.

I bet the Orioles are thrilled that this is out there.

Both players would be a tough sell at this point, and it's no secret that they stink, but it sucks that this level of disparity is being made public.

I can no longer sit idly by and watch this board bash Mark Reynolds.

Tell me sir...why does he stink? Why should the Orioles be so desperate to throw 40ish home runs off the team?

The strikeouts and the fact a blind man with no arms could field his position better would be my first guess.

There is a belief that last season's horrific defens will be what to expect from now on, because he has made 3 E's so far, and because like Pujols, he has yet to hit a HR in his first 13 G's, he probably lost all his power when he lost weight this winter, so he's useless to us now.

Is this a belief you share? I'd love to see this written somewhere by an actual baseball person. The bolded seems idiotic to me.

I'm feeling like you were being sarcastic. I hope this is the case.

A strikeout is the same as any other out.

DH him if you don't like this defense.

Wtf. No it's not. It's the most unproductive out. Even an occassional run scores on a double play. I'm not a Reynolds hater, but a K is NOT the same as any other out.

Worst player ever. Le's see why does he suck? Comically low batting average. Strikes out at a major league record every year. Yeah he holds the top 3 or 4 season for strike outs in major leauge history. His OBP is low. And he is the worst fielder i have ever seen.

A poor man's dave kingman.

No team is going to want him. He makes 7 million this year plus has 500k buyout next season. Why do you think the Orioles are desperate to trade him?

.

There are 29 other teams in the major leagues. If any one of them is stupid enough to pick up Kevin Gregg in any capacity whatsoever, they deserve everything that they get. It's one thing to be a headache and the worst player on an excellent team. Gregg has been a headache and the worst player on what has been one of baseball's perennially worst teams. It's obvious that he would have been DFA'd a long tome ago if his salary were considerably lower, and Angelos and company weren't trying to get their "money's worth" out of him. For any team to show the slightest interest in him whatsoever would be like if you washed your hands, and someone came along and wanted to buy the dirty water when you were finished.

Reynolds is worse than Gregg so he isn't even the worst player on this team.
